East Coast style baby-

Engine company guy all the way here.

it is, however, permissable to refer to it as a "pumper" when discussing it in a generic sense 8)

and thank you for your support.

and I liked the sacriligious reference to the mighty FDNY

Dude, they are probably the most outdated FD in the country. Yeah, lets be like them and burn everything down with our crappy equipment. I'm not saying they don't know what they are doing, just that they aren't the leaders in the business.

agreed. That was tongue-in-cheek.

The real issue is upgrading equipment and TOG for 11k guys.

can you imagine the cost of THAT?

but it wasn't too long ago they were STILL wearing 3/4 length canvas coats and hip waders!

and does ANYONE think Borques are safe? puh-leeze.

There are certain threads I intentionally avoid for any number of reasons. Today I have added a new entry to the list.

try trolling a fire/rescue board for a half hour. I dare you.

Or firehouse.com

no one would complain about "testicle" anymore.

hey SCUZ: New Yorker or Houston, or Philly lid?

we're issued Philly's- but the local wackers sport the New Yorkers (sans ratchet insert and ear flaps, of course) complete w/ aforementioned Borques.

bonus question: Morning Pride, Globe, Quaker Safety, FireDex?

Try London lid. I'm still wearing my old one (more traditional) but the dfd is going to a fighter pilot looking helmet. Makes me want to puke just looking at it. Ok, so the benefit is that it's lighter and much more comfortable. Soooooo What!

Are u talking bunkers? Mine are baked potato silver. High heat resistent, real hot to wear.

Yep, the collar is an issue with those lids. I drive an OshKosh right now. In March I'm getting an E-One. Much nicer ride! The streets mainly have Peirce with a few oddballs mixed in. Peirce Sabers, real nice rigs!
