I think some of us are going overboard about what was said. Here's the difference between Liberty fans at a Christian University against secular schools... we're not going to the games drunk and straight cussing at the players. Two years ago I went to Winthrop when we played them in the tournament as a 8 seed and as one has a history at games of being what some of you call "Non-Christian Like" I was appalled. We had a whole group of students come right to us and starting pushing us after the game with beers in their hand, inside the arena! This season I went to the game at East Carolina on a saturday night, and half their fans were wasted and yelling obscenities. I wasn't there and the only thing I know about the situation is what I've read on the locked thread...

I'm just trying to say, if you think someone saying testicle or even sucks at a basketball game is over the line, check out some other schools.

Lucky for us, we don't define what's appropriate by other schools' standards.

having been to MANY games at LU in the mid to late 90's, the cheering by fans was WAY better then, with things that have now been banned. things like "the hey song" with the last line being "HEY... you SUCK!"

back when games were in the schilling center, toilet paper rolls would come down from the stands IMMEDIATELY upon the start of EACH AND EVERY GAME! (resulting in a T for our crowd and the other team getting two shots and the ball)

its gotten so watered down now that tudents were told to put away an "Eat more chicken" sign during the BSC V-ball tourny against Coastal... i mean, wtf?

so much for throwing marshmallows at football games...

shoot, no more beach balls in the stands at bball games like there used to be...

whatever happened to LU students being allowed to be creative with their support. thats one of the things that makes LU such a unique environment to play in for opposing teams. its called the furnace for a reason. its not SUPPOSED to be a nice place to play for the other guys.

sure we aren't gonna scream expletives at them or anything, but somewhere, somehow, some stuffshirt official who forgot how to have fun decided tehy were gonna take the fun out of the stands...

and as for LUPD, lets not even get into that... some poor guy for LUPD probably got tired of not being allowed to do his job by the powers that be and decided to overstep his bounds and take it out on some poor kid who said the wrong thing (even though it might not have been) at the wrong time...

shoot, back in the day, Radford fans had to be escorted to their cars after the games... (that, makes the incident the other night look like time out at a pre-school)

A few years ago we beat Longwood at home and their fans went around the top of the Vines and began knocking over those commuter student card swipes that I think nobody ever used.
