I hate VT. they make maryland look classy, and thats pretty bad. they were throwing cheap shots all night, and talking smack. they didn't back it up, they are horrible, but they just play dirty. they don't belong in the ACC. they are a discrace to the ACC and all college basketball.

Terron Washington should have been tossed in the first 5 minutes.

Oh, and Greenburg didn't even shake K's hand. Real classy

And I'm sure Duke is a paragon of class 100% of the time

First, VT just won the ACC in football...thats why the Hokies were brought in. The ACC is trying to cultivate football, which is why VT, Miami and Boston College were brought in. Second, every school in the ACC knew that VT and Miami were not exactly known (actually...ridiculed for would be more accurate) for their bball programs. The Blue Devils (finally) did what they were supposed to and spanked the football school in bball-something that the little dark blue bball school has had trouble doing since VT joined the league...just be happy with that.

no, its never ok to play dirty. one questionable play is one thing, but that entire game was dirty. they were throwing cheap shots and playing like a bunch of thugs. That was ridiculous. there is no need to play dirty ever, and something should be done about that.

just because they won the conference in football or whatever else they have done does not make it ok to play dirty. that is inexcusable

I was watching the game and even tho I like VT as a school, I thought their BB team was classless tonight. There is a difference in playing hard and playing dirty. BTW if anyone on my BB team wanted to show off for the crowd, they sat down, I told my players if you want to act join the theater club, this is a basketball team. Also if you get a T you were sitting for the rest of the game.

I agree. Not shaking hands is not the best thing to do. Although, dook is not clean on this either. Dawkins refused to shake Coach Doherty's hand in 2003.

ok, and i'll say that was wrong and he should have. Duke is not above it, i'm not blind. I'm just saying that it wasn't one thing with VT, it was a lot.

My main problem was Deron Washington. He was constantly bumping people, tripping, and he even undercut Demarcus Nelson. Thats just a dirty play. If it was one bump, or one coach didn't shake a hand, or something like that it wouldn't be that bad but the combination of all this is just ridiculous.

This has nothing to do with me being a Duke fan, Duke killed them. Dirty is dirty, it doesn't matter who they're playing

Nelson went up for a dunk late in the game and Washington clearly went after the ball and didn't say a word....but Nelson started talking crap immediatly and had to be restrained. Nelson is a bad example to use because he was completly out of line as well. I can't stand anything UVA or VT but Washington also wasn't getting some calls that were pretty obvious as well from your Duke boys.

watch this video. even espn calls him out on it. and he was flopping terrible. its one thing to flop on a charge, which duke does and i'm not trying to start a discussion about, but washington goes flying everytime someone looks at him. the funniest one is when he ran into singler in the video and just flies backwards like he got decked.

you can forget me being a "dookie" for a second...

i'll be a liberty fan right now.

VT played with little class last night. i agree that washington was the ring leader.

ok, you might want to remember the situation here. doherty started the argument with collins. as soon as collins said a word to doherty, doherty just threw his hands up in the air innocently. i don't blame dawkins for not shaking his hand. besides this exchange, when else has the duke coaching staff shown a lack of class? i could be wrong, but woudn't most people consider duke a classy program?

i'll have to disagree. i don't feel like washington was trying to kill nelson, but he did clearly lower his shoulder a little on one play. the other play, in which washington went for the ball, was questionable. although it just looked like a hard block, you'd almost have to wonder what washington's intent was with the block/foul (considering the way he acted the whole game).

Actually, it went down this way:
"The intensity generated a potentially frightening situation with 8:17 left in the game. With Felton on the floor near the Duke (21-6, 11-5) bench after suffering a large cut to his face, Doherty and some players walked over to see if he was all right.

Apparently Duke assistant coach Chris Collins said something to which Doherty took exception. telling him to make love to himself & saying he makes love his mother. Doherty then repeated those sentiments back to Collins. Duke reserve Andre Buckner came in and pushed Doherty, although the officials said they never saw a Duke player leave the bench."
Do I agree with what Doherty did? No. I also don't agree with what Collins or Buckner did. Nor do I agree with the way Washington plays. He is a dirty player & has had that reputation for a few years.

sorry not seeing what your are talking about. Looks like pretty standard stuff, to me. If Washington was a little out of line, it was only to get in Dukes head. I didn't see anything unusual and I thought the last play should have been a charge on Duke.

Stop whining about the flopping.

I guess I don't have a problem seeing people play dirty as long as they are not clearly trying to hurt someone. I didn't see that from Washington (at least in the video clip that you showed, looked like petty stuff)

A jab here, a push there, a little flop, big deal. So he scraped his face with his foot...he didn't kick him. Duke and there fans are alwasy whining.

Last season when Gerald Henderson INTENTIONALLY tried to hurt Psycho T...

After the game, coach K defended Henderson and all he could talk about was his players reputation

Coach K didn't even acknowledge Hansbrough....That was classless. Also, everyone outside of Dook fans think that they are a classless program.

It looks like his foot catches him. Granted, he wanted it to catch him in the face, but the Duke player made it look worse than it was.

Yes. I'll always come to the defense of scrappers. Especially when I think Duke's whining is racially motivated.
