thats probably why you aren't a trainer..."if a guy can walk he should play"...wat?

volek, sproles, turner were all doing exceptionally well...there was really no need for rivers or lt to come in. this isn't hs football...a player can't go "i'm good" and trot back onto the field.

tomlinson got on the bike and when he came off it stiffened up. hurt to walk.

rivers was cleared to come back in but it was on the drive that volek was on fire so they didn't bother.

if LT could have played, he'd would have. You don't get to the nfl without a lot of guts, and want-to, and pain tolerance

there are times when you come in injured and actually hurt the team. when they have capable backups there is no need to risk additional injury. gates played because name me the other TE they have?....you can't....manunamandagdhafkula? garbage...a dislocated toe? its possible to play....but a hobbled gates is better than the other options. gates was still drawing double teams even with a lost step...

How about Nate Jackson for another TE?

You're crazy. Ray Lewis played the opening game this year with a torn bicep muscle. He was out there tackling people with one arm. The entire Raven's defense would get completely cortisoned up before getting on the field a few years ago. I'm not saying everybody does it, but lots of folks play with tons of pain.

i'm not saying people don't play with pain. you don't make it to the nfl if you don't play with pain. but who else are the ravens going to put in there? that is my whole point... WHEN YOU HAVE NOONE TO REPLACE THEM YOU PLAY THEM. they both probably could of played but why ? they were dominating the colts offensively....don't try to fix what ain't broke...if it would of been the choice of rivers or charlie whitehurst, i'm fairly certain rivers would of been out there...sproles and turner avg 4.5 yds per carry together...once again, if it had been between lt and nick goings you'd probably of seen LT....

i don't know if the chargers would of been able to sign a bronco tightend before the divisional playoff games started...

WHO? The Chargers #3 TE is Scott Chandler #87 and Legadu Naane is also listed at TE/WR. His play was huge yesterday too.

i know the knicks play basketball you smartass...I would still pick and root for them because I hate Rivers now, of course you silly Chargers fan's can't understand that!

He ran his mouth after the Broncos game and yesterday he was running his mouth and taunting the fans at Indy during the game and afterwards. This guy has won absolutely nothing. I'll sum it up this way, Trent Dilfer has a better postseason record than Rivers and Dan Marino was a great QB but a loser when it came to the postseason. He was a winner in the regular season, but when it came to the postseason he couldn't get the job done and that's one of the biggest reasons why a lot of people don't consider him the best QB of all time. A good regular season win-loss record is all fine and dandy, but it doesn't matter what oyu do in the regular season if you haven't done much of anything in the postseason. So far Rivers hasn't proven himself as a postseason winner in just three games because they got upset last year, this year they beat an average Tennessee team, and yesterday was the first time he ever beat a GOOD team in the postseason.

You take the good regular season win-loss record, I'll take a QB who has won something in the playoffs...

PS: I don't like how Rodney Harrison taunts the fans and/or the oppossing team either, but at least this man has won in the postseason and been to multiple pro bowls and just generally earned the right to do it. Rather you agree with his antics or not, at least he's done something to earn it whereas Rivers hasn't...

When is it good enough? Shouldn't yesterday's win where NOONE gave them a chance count for something?
OH well, we'll talk again next week when they are headed to Arizona!

For the record, while I don't think they will win, I think the Chargers could beat either team in the NFC easily. So if they pull the upset, start getting ring sizes.

dan marino's post season stats are darn near identical to his regular season stats....marino did what he did with only 1 other hof'r on his team....each and every year he either had an ok defense or a bad defense. he also only ever had 1 1000 yd rusher on his team

I scoff at the Idea of Maroney running all over our defense. You are joking right? Call Joe Addai and ask him about that!

In fairness, the colts O-line and the Pats O-line are quite different.....Brady barely gets touched, ever. Meaning i think they are a bit bigger and can open the holes for Maroney who is clearly fresh after getting a half season off.

pluss addai never really got a chance to get rolling....yuo mean to tell me in a close game you don't run one of the leagues best runners only 2 times n the 4th quarter? you still had plenty of time....he's peyton manning but he still never should of thrown the ball 29 times in the 2nd half...the colts took addai out of the game basically letting the linebackers drop back into coverage...

both lines are good...i give a slight edge to NE but manning holds onto the ball a lot longer than grady usually does..

Look the Chargers D will get in on Brady and will stop Maroney. He will get his yards I'm sure, but he will not "run wild". Anyway, wait till Sunday and we'll see.

it does count for something and he did do pretty good, but he still hasn't proven he's a postseason winner. It takes more than ONE big win to be called a postseason winner. It's simply silly to call a QB a winner in the postseason after only having ONE big win in the playoffs. A postseason winner has to continue to repeat that task as an underdog and/or against the best of the best. The Tennessee game win was a nice win, but they were considered to be the worst playoff team in the AFC, so I don't think me or many others would consider that a big win.

Also, don't overlook the fact that the Jags themselves said they had been preparing for the Pats for 3 weeks prior to the game. They did a lot of the things needed to beat the Pats, yet they still didn't even come close to beating them.

PS: Maroney ran for over 120 yards against a rush defense that allowed less yards per game than the SD defense did in the regular season, plus the NE offensive line is the best in the NFL, much better than the Colts. The Patriots don't have an overmatched rookie left tackle protecting Brady's backside and helping the run like the Colts did. People have been trying to get to Brady all season and no one has done it successfully. The Giants led the NFL in sacks and they had a lot of trouble getting to Brady.

I'm done talking to you now. People call me a clueless Charger homer all last week, and now I think it's your turn to be the clueless homer!
By the way, the Chargers pulled the keep the ball longer thing to keep it out of the QBs hands that the Jags tried successfully against the Colts. Expect the same tactic Sunday. Patsie snob!

bball 84 may be a jerk....but he is right. If you think the Bolts O-Line is better than Pats, then please have Dennis Carter call me because he is really selling you some good stuff.....

i think the sd run d is only slightly better than the jags... i think maroney has another good game here...

the giants knocked brady down quite a bit but it was usually too late...

Never said the Bolts O line was better. They are ONE of the best, I could care less about rankings. They get the job done. I have issues with his statement that the Patriots O line is the best in the NFL!

How bout this, our O line will protect Phillip or Billy very well all day, and our D line will pressure Brady ALL day.

The Pats O Line is the best in the NFL. everyone realizes that other than you. Their protection of BRady has been unparalleled in the NFl for a LONG time. Only a SD kool-aid drinker like you don't realize the Pats O-Line is the best in the NFL.

Tom Brady against the blitz: 155-219 (70.8%), 8.53 YPA, 17 TDs, 2 INTs, 13 sacks, 118.7 rating.

You my friend are the BIGGEST KoolAid drinker of them all.
We'll see Jamal Williams, Luis Castillo (hopefully if h's OK - if not Ceseare and Tucker), and Igor Olschansky beat them around all day and wear them down as the game goes on!
Not to mention Merriman, Phillips, and when needed Cooper, Tucker, Weddle, Hart, and Ceseare getting plenty of penetration and pressure. Tom will see some good protection here and there as Manning did, but the Pats OL will not dominate THIS defense.

This is going to be a fun week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way to back off sir. You just said they were the best in the league and that their protection is unparalleled, and now you didn't say they would dominate. Shouldn't the best O line dominate?

Look, It's all steam and fluff until game time. The best to your team, the best O line, Brady, Moroney, Moss, and the grand cheating genious. I hope they all play well so there will be no excuses.
I just want folks to stop counting the Chargers out of every game and discounting great individual performances on a whim!

By the way I don't completely disagree with the quoted statement, but I think Significant is way to strong and adjective. Better maybe.
