After reading over SJ's breakdown of my post and his suggestion that I think things through, I decided I would take a look at the football team from a position by position standpoint (again this is a look at the 2007 team, and does not factor in any recruits that come in at the various positions when signing day rolls around)
First up is the QBs
2007 QBs:
1. Brock Smith- 2007 was a better year for the third year signal caller, his second full season as the starter. Smith easily set new career highs in passing yards in a season with 2,226 (including a season high 281 vs Presbyterian) and 19 touchdowns. Smith will look to finish out his Flames career in 2008 once again hoisting the Big South Conference title and leading the Flames to their first ever berth in the I-AA/FCS playoffs
2. Spencer Landis- The second year backup from Dacula, GA saw limited action in 2007 completing 13 of 18 attempts for 125 yards and 2 TDs mostly coming in late in games when the result was already decided. Landis should serve as Brock Smith's backup once again in 08. although Mike Brown will be battling with him throughout the spring and into the summer.
3. Kyle DeArmon- Did not register a pass attempt in 2007, but did appear in a few games mostly to hand the ball off and run out the clock.
4. Tavarus Dove- the former Hampton QB appeared in one game for the Flames in 2007 (against VMI).
5. Mike Brown- Redshirted in 2007 and will likely battle with Landis for time behind Brock Smith in 08
