Cats to play Norfolk State

UK completed its 2008 football schedule last week by adding Football Championship Subdivision opponent Norfolk State to the slate. The Spartans will visit Commonwealth Stadium on Sept. 6, the week after Kentucky's season-opener at Louisville.

Norfolk State finished 8-3 last year, including a 6-2 mark in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The Spartans lost to Rutgers 59-0 in their only game against a Bowl Subdivision opponent. Norfolk State has one Kentucky product on its roster, freshman linebacker Corwin Hammond, who played at St. Xavier.

Kentucky will have two open dates on the 2008 schedule, Sept. 20 and Nov. 22.
