What do you guys do when you can't sleep? I've been trying to go to sleep for the past three hours and haven't been able to yet. TV in the middle of the night is terrible.

Stay away from the caffeine (soft drinks & coffee) after dinner. If that doesn't work, tune in to the ladies' or men's basketball games on the radio: that always puts me to sleep within 10 minutes.

I rarely have this issue but I find turning a stereo onto static puts me to sleep. If I dare turn on a television or go online it is a surefire way to stay awake.

I sleep with a tv on anyways so that wasn't the problem. I think I memorized Sportscenter.

I use to fall asleep to the tv on all the time and then after a while for whatever reason I slipped into the insomnia state of mind, so then i found that weird radio show that talks about aliens and crap and that always put my right to sleep...

then I got married and honestly have never had a problem falling asleep since....

Art is now in semi-retirement in the Phillipines and only does the show occasionally. The regular host is George Noory, who does have a soothing voice (good for insomnia), but talks about the same whackball stuff as Art. I think they still carry it on WLNI.

exercise more. there have been several times when i went several days not being able to sleep well, and then i go to the gym the next day and i sleep better.

prayer works too. i'm out in 30 seconds consistently

if you want to go the legal drug route, taking something that makes you really sleepy, for me it\'s actifed or tylenol severe allergy. i swear they are more money than sleeping pills or the date rape drug, not that i\'ve ever used or been the victim of that drug.

Last night was the only night it's happened in forever. I just wanted to see what everyone else did when they couldn't sleep, not suggestions for me. I'm normally the one that's in bed relatively early.
