I explained it in a way that a child could understand, and you're still lost. I was not disagreeing with you. I making fun of you.

My highschool gym didn't seat as many, but the bathroom was bigger, the concession was bigger and much nicer, and the stands were nicer, and my high school floor was 100x nicer than campbell.jack_sparrow81 wrote:Don't be fooled by the pics. The gym is actually a decent size, and they have great facilities compared to the rest of the teams in their conference. I went to basketball camp up there my senior year in highschool and it was actually one of the quality ones i've been to.No, it's not decent size and you can't ever mention the word great and their facilities at the same time. The bathroom is two urinals and a stall. My high school gym (honestly) is better than that place. That's a joke of a Division I gym. Coastal is small, but it's nowhere near as big of a dump as Campbell. Everyone I talked to even said CSU's was a better place than Campbell.
By the way, no way that place seats 978.

Yes, jm, I agree that this was relatively "pretty civil."
I made the statement you quoted in respect to the fact that I have been encouraged by those in authority on this site to try to be positive regarding the changes that have taken place, and I have no reason not to comply. RMK and the team deserve our support. In keeping with this, I have asked that (for lack of a better term) "both sides" sign off on the peace treaty/smoke the peace pipe (no offence intended toward any former pot heads or Native Americans).
I honestly don't feel that you have made a sincere effort to do this. Could you? I may be misreading what the authorities
want here, but this is what I have understood. I guess if I'm wrong, I'll be told.
If I can regress a bit (timidly) I would say that many are happy with the changes. In other words, for them, the battle has been fought and won - they have their victory.. new coach in place. I humbly ask, "Is this not enough?" I'm happy to support the program - with no pot shots at RMK.
I do not want to open up the old battles with this post. It's not about that. This is about being civil and respectful of one another, despite past differences.
Sincerely....Jerry

I think Exam week and a road game in general are more likely the problem--lacked a little focus.I disagree completely. There's a reason it takes time for people to adjust from shooting in say The Vines Center to Rupp Arena. What you're shooting up against and your surroundings have a ton to do with how you shoot.
SuperJon wrote:I know for a fact that the backdrop affects player's shooting. Not to bring up my old glory days, but my senior year in high school we pllayed at this gym where one basket faced into a cafeteria with tons of people coming, going, eating, socializing, etc. In the first half, my team faced the opposite end, where that basket just faced a wall, I shot 8-8 from the free throw line in the first half, and in the 2nd half, while facing the cafeteria, I was 1-6.kel varson wrote:Don't make too much of shooting 3's w/ a backdrop. I believe it was Campbell he was referring to as the "bad team", and it was a road loss, and a bad one. What's there to disagree with? That was my whole point. Of course Campbell is a bad team. And it was obviously a loss on the road. It was a pointless post. We all already knew both of those things.
olldflame wrote:Is it just me, or has it occurred to anyone else that the Campbell players had probably just finished finals too?
I would take the attitude that RMc did in his post game interview that this was a very disappointing performance on our part and our guys have some things they need to work on. Campbell is a team we need to be able to beat if we are going to compete in the BSC. They have lost to CCU and I believe Chuck South and have split with Radford.

We have "good wins" against ECU on the road and Niagra, and we can be proud of them. They show the potential this team has. Let's face it, the Campbell game was a "stinker".
