Highlights from Jingle Bell Rock's press conference...
This has been an up and down tournament for us…and many composers would be doing cartwheels at the job we’ve done. However, we have got to get some more contributions from our jingle bells. We’re a donut down there and that has to be addressed. Right now, we're just immature, and we're not where we need to be in terms of competitive greatness. Yet, there's times when there's flashes of very solid Christmas music. That's where we've been. I'm not happy with it, and we're very disappointed that two or three notes couldn't step their game up and make the plays they needed to make when the game was in the balance. It was a very poor performance in that second half of the voting. We've got nobody to blame but ourselves for that. I was as disappointed with that half of play as I've been with any half since I've been coaching Jingle Bell Rocker. You're in that time of the year when their notes are absolutely starting to wilt, and you're on the road and you're struggling. It's easy to take a step back mentally. This is where we need to take steps forward mentally. We weren't able to do that. The important thing for us is just establishing that we can win. Winning can be a habit. Unfortunately, so can losing. I have to give credit to O Holy Night...They're as good a song as I've seen in my tenure at FlameFans. Unfortunately, life is a do-it-yourself project and we Jack Kevorkian-ed ourselves tonight. It was assisted suicide.
Oh hey, I forgot about this. What an anticlimactic ending to an otherwise decent tournament. Flamefans, I present to you the greatest Chistmas song of all Time: O Holy Night.
