No. More than likely that's just people guessing. Before Lloyd Carr retired, people were already mentioning Les Miles' name. He hadn't been contacted by anyone at that point, and didn't put his name out there.

My ONLY concern with that is there is an obvious connection with those examples you've mentioned....yet with Duke, I mean who would put a Liberty University football coach on the short list (yes I know the ACC connection but still there are hundreds with that connection)

When the Duke Head Football coach came to Lynchburg Sports Club to speak Coach Rocco was there and he said ALOT of great things about him...he really liked Rocco a lot

I understand what you're saying, but there always just rumors for one reason or another people throw other coach's names in the hat. I heard this morning that the Oakland Raiders current head coach is a candidate at Arkansas.

Which is where he should go. Oakland is a dead-end job if there ever was one.

Arkansas, however, is not such a bad job, especially for a guy his age. He is younger than most NFL vets.

I have not posted in quite a while but read daily. as a coach myself and an alum of liberty i have a great respect for coach rocco. He is doing the right things for us and is building something that can be special one day. we are not special yet. If you were an ACC athletic director how are you going to sell your alumni on a coach with a single big south championship and no post-season on his head coaching resume? When he took the job liberty was a long term project. it is less of that now but there is still a ways to go. What he has done is impressive but not necessarily sellable. Unless the university does a complete about face on its commitment to athletics and won't give Rocco what he needs or somebody comes in with an unbelievable job offer for him which I can't imagine what job that would be that he hasn't already had he is here for a while.
