I have started up Wikipedia pages for all of the Big South head football coaches (yeah, it was a boring Black Friday at the Sly household). I'd appreciate it if somebody who had the time and info could flush out what I started:

Coach Rocco on Wikipedia

Gracias

last time I posted info it was removed by the Wiki-lords who emailed me nastygrams about documentation, sources, and editing without some sort of official approval.

had no idea it was so legalistic

wikipedia is amazing, because anyone who wants to can add anything they want to it, so you know you are getting the best information

Still funny.

But unfortunate, since most people don't seem to really understand how it works.

wikipedia is a great tool, i always go there to find sources which are almost always cited at the bottom of the page...its a great place to start....but i laugh at people that seriously think it should count as a source

Just a note of slight concern.....while recovering Fri. morn from turkey fest 2007 in Rocky River Ohio/ inlaws with the Cleveland Plain Dealer Sports Page, I was reading an article on potential U of Michigan candidates, listing Jim Grobe as being seriously considered. Now, if he were to vacate Wake Forest,......hmmmmmm.

After what happened with teh team this year Im sure AD Barber would take a bullet to keep Coach ROcco in Lynchburg...besides, that job is Les Miles' for the taking from what I have been hearing

The one and Only wasnt expressing his opinion but rather being very clever and quoting the office (although I think Scorcy might have caught it)

Great job!

Nobody knows much of anything about what the big boys will do. Its primarily speculation at this point as the search committees fly across the country in their private jets.

But let's not put the cart before the horse regarding Coach Rocco going anywhere right now. Let's cross that bridge should we ever find ourselves in that position. Hopefully its two decades down the line when he's considering retirement. :)

Nebraska needs to hire Turner Gill. IMHO they shouldn't even interview anyone else.

I thought Coach already made it clear he wants to stay here and fulfill Jerry's vision. I'd take him at his word. By all means you can speculate though. I actually encourage it unlike others.

I don't know Rocco's heart, but from what I've heard, the only job that might lure him away from LU would be Wake.

Undoubtedly it would be tempting with his Wake background. I'm just saying what I heard him say earlier this year. I think he's a man of his word. However, his statment was a bit openended too.

According to the Sporting News:
DUKE - Others that figure in the mix are Middle Tennessee coach Rick Stockstill, South Florida assistant Dan McCarney, New England Patriots tight ends coach Pete Mangurian, Liberty coach Danny Rocco and Tennessee offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe.

True. That Duke job is career suicide.

True. That Duke job is occupational suicide.
People have often said the same thing about the Liberty job.

What People said that? Are you crazy?
Duke is a football dead end. It would take a MAJOR miracle for Duke to Ever be competative again. Danny has already proven that LU is a good job where hard work and determination will make a difference. One is a coach's nightmare, the other is a dream. No Comparison.

From the same article that referenced Rocco:
Duke

A hot name at Duke: Terry Bowden.

He would bring name cache to Durham and a winning style. And, think of this: the ACC would feature three Bowdens, with Tommy at Clemson and Bobby at Florida State
Rocco being considered for the ACC, DI-A Duke job just shows us how far LU's football program has come, because I think 2 of our former 3 head coaches (Karcher & Hout) are now coaching high school football.

People said that. They also said everything about Liberty that you just said about Duke. Except they spelled "competitive" correctly.

[The following comes from a Carolina fan]

Why is the Dook job career suicide? They have some amazing facilities that they just opened up. Spurrier proved you can win there. Dook is in the shadow of Carolina and State, both of which have decided to start spending money on football, Carolina especially. It was ok for Dook to suck when Carolina did. Now Carolina went out and got a good coach, is spending money on the stadium, facilities, etc and Dook doesn't want to suck if Carolina is good. Dook just opened new workout facilities and, if they decide to put money towards football, could become a good program. Liberty was terrible until the administration started putting money towards facilities, got a good coach, etc. If Kansas and Missouri can be in the top 5, Dook can be competitive.
