speaking of additions, part of the dining renovations included a freestanding diner on campus, anyone in lynchburg know if they have started this or where its going to be on campus?

FYI: This what's being built in front of the parking lot on East Campus currently. My understanding is that it will indeed be period themed (40's/50's) and will be called "Doc's Diner" or something to that effect. It will be "authentic" diner fare with 100-150 seats. Since it's not a pre-fab building, it's technically not a diner, but that's the atmosphere and food you can expect.

Renovations started to the Rot, not a free standing dining hall somewhere else on campus.

They were toying with the notion of a 50's style diner around Campus East. It would be open to the public with signage on the highway.

Yes "At the Hop" didn't bomb once, why not try it again.

You cant even begin to compare the two. First "At the Hop" had a HUGE price on it to rent which led to Krispy Kream leaving and "At the Hop" leaving. I heard a statistic from a local businessman that told me how many hamburgers they needed to sell a month to just break even it was a huge amount.

I agree and I've said that before. I've meant to find out why they can afford it but never got around to it. I now have a mission for today, I will post the results later.
