This was a very entertaining game to say the least. Our offense was unstoppable. Defense struggled a bit against the triple option but we forced 5 turnovers. It got a little scary at the half when they picked up that fumble but remained focused and put them away in the second half.

that fumble inside the 10 left us 3 points short of school record for points in a game (76).

Though the defense gave me a little bit of a nervous tick at the end of the first half, this game was fun to watch. Our offense is a touchdown machine right now and it's just a blast to see from the stands. There's a lot to be said, and I'm sure everyone else will say it. Right now I just want to turn on my recording of the game and enjoy it a second time.

Hey, nice first win to start the Coach McKay era.

Wait…this was a football game. Were the Keydets aware of this? Ouch!

The one senior who did not get in the game, and probably happy about it......... Zack Koleque.

We did not punt.

Actually, he got in the game and punted, but VMI was called for a penalty, which gave LU a first down.

11pm on MASN. it was a great day on the mountain. the offense and special teams were spectacular and the defense got it together after a bad 2nd quarter. props to VMI for playing hard and never quitting, but they were clearly outclassed. i did question that attendance number, but hey the crowd was great. now let's get that big south championship next week.

What a great game today!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was able to attend one more game than I had planned by coming up to help chaperone a bunch of CFAW'ers.
We had a great time today sitting in the student section about 10 rows behind Super and his crew. There is definitley no comparison between being there and on the Baptist side. The atmosphere there was as good as any game I've ever attended.

Only thing was one of our chaperones asked, "Don't they ever sit down during the games?"

It was fun! :pbjtime

This is available elsewhere, but I thought it'd be nice to have it in one handy dandy image file...

Total yardage figures are deceivingly close. We had so many short TD drives as a result of special teams play and turnovers. Also, check out the time of posession. Easily the most overrated statistic in football.

It means that no matter what happens next week, the worst we can do is share the championship with GW. However, if we win, it's all ours!

If we were to lose to GW, it would be a 3 way tie for first with LU GW and Coastal all 3-1.

We don't want no stinkin "co-championship!!!"

The wrapup from the SIDs ...
Big Plays Give Flames Record-Setting Victory over In-State Foe VMI

November 10, 2007
Lynchburg, Va.

Box Score

Dominic Bolden scored three touchdowns on the afternoon, including two TD receptions and an 83-yard kickoff return against VMI.

Liberty continued its onslaught on both the Flames and Big South Conference record books, as the Flames scored their second-highest single-game point total in program history in a 73-34 conference victory over VMI, Saturday afternoon, at Williams Stadium.

With the victory, the Flames raise their record to 7-3 on the year and 3-0 in the Big South. The triumph gives Liberty its eighth-straight home victory to set a new school record and finishes the year 6-0 at home for the first time in school history.

And here is Chris' take ...
LU scores virtually at will in lopsided win over VMI

By Chris Lang
Lynchburg News & Advance
November 11, 2007

Liberty wide receivers coach Charlie Skalaski gives his players a test before each game. The final question: How many points will LU score?

Flames receiver Brandon Turner scribbled 48 onto his test before Saturday's home finale against VMI. It turned out to be quite the underestimation. Liberty walloped VMI 73-34, the most points the Flames have ever scored against a Division I opponent, and the most points the Keydets have allowed in a single-game in the 116-year history of the program, leaving this grim assessment from VMI coach Jim Reid.

have been watching the entire game on MASN-

all I can say is: UNBELIEVABLE!

great to see the second team guys get in there and get some time- even if we did give up a garbage TD.

just how many of their players got carted off or limped off? I lost count after 5.

Kill Bill was great on the sidelines, too!
