If you're one of the people who stole the seats that we've had for two years and that I was there at 8:45 in the morning to try and save, then toolbag's the nicest thing I'm going to call you.

Easy, brother...I was nowhere near the student section...I was just saying that I'm a toolbag in general.

Keep your seat. You guys are fun to watch.

I have kept my mouth shut on this and I know I am going to get killed for this and SJ, I like you buddy......but come on...saving seats??? most stadiums won't let you in early to even try to save seats....its a student section...we hated that SFC got saved seats last year....I know it sucks, but dude calm down....it was a great atmosphere last week...if it takes people getting moved around to get an atmosphere this week like it was last week, then so be it....

See, that's where you don't know the entire story. It was four or five kids saving seats for an entire brother or sister dorm. If it had been a group of regular kids, I wouldn't have minded, but these kids had never made an effort to sit down there in two years.

I never had a problem with SFC seating. I thought they should've continued it, but let it open to everyone when the game started as opposed to 10 minutes into the game. That's where the problem was. I'm sorry, but I think the most dedicated fans should be rewarded with something. We're the ones out there at 8am tailgating. We're the ones that travel to away games. We're the ones that try to get everything going when everyone else wants to sit on their hands. Yes, last week was great, but there have been God only knows how many times where our students have been dead and either my group or Dallas' group tried to get things going. We're having to sacrifice tailgating time to get the seats. I always laughed at Wake students complaining about this stuff, but now I know exactly what they mean. I would be willing to buy tickets every week to sit where we do. I'd be willing to join a club to get those seats.

I equate our group and Dallas' to the big-time Flames Club donors. They get agree if they don't get first dibs at the seats, and rightly so. We're the ones pouring our heart, souls, and wallets into the season and we're getting our seats taken by kids who have likely never participated in a game the entire season. I overheard a lot of the conversations and there were kids in those seats who didn't know Coastal's mascot, didn't know if they were any good, didn't know if we were supposed to win or not, and were completely oblivious to what was going on, yet their RA said to show up, so they did.

Put as much time, effort, and money into this stuff as I have, as Dallas has, as the people I'm with have, and then maybe you'll understand.

hey i know the whole story you told the whole story already on the board...and i understood, but you keep on bringing it up like it was the worst possible thing that could happen....yet last week i enjoyed an atmosphere that i had never enjoyed before at a football game before at liberty....i would much rather have that

as far is putting as much time, effort and money as you guys...i probably will never get to that point...despite what you think i have given money and am part of the flames club...i did so after i committed money to you guys and then ended up not being able to come through, so a couple months later when i had some money i went ahead and joined....I won't ever be able to put the kind of money or time you put into the athletics simply because i must work my tail off since i am paying for college in its entirety on my own...no help whatsoever from anywhere...i am not saying this to get sympathy from you or anybody else...but when you say stuff like that you just come off as condescending....whether you mean to or not

you talk about how you want students to come out, support the team and all this crap, but the second they steal your seats...oh man...thats it...its like the old people at church that want the church to grow, but as soon as someone sits in the pew in the second row all hell breaks loose....

My biggest problem is they ask us to tailgate. They want us out there creating an atmosphere as people come onto campus. Even when FlameFans doesn't tailgate, I'm still out there.

At the same time, they want us to get to the game, be loud, and all of that. That was fine last year when the SFC reserved seats, etc. I could get into the stadium 45 minutes-hour before the game, have my seats, and still be able to tailgate.

The problem comes when we have to get in the stadium almost two hours early. I don't get the opportunity to tailgate with most of the people that come by. I try to do both things that the athletic department asks, it's just pretty much impossible to tailgate and get the good seats. It just finally came to a head on Saturday. I'm not the only one upset about it, I'm just the most vocal. One of the girls came up to me yesterday and said we need to camp out in the stands at 8am so we can get those spots.

If I would've showed up to the game at 2, got to the stadium late, and the seats were gone then, I wouldn't have complained. I was on campus at 8:45 (the only other people there were workers and Steve Lloyd) in the stadium hanging up banners and things of that nature. The church thing would be a good analogy if you had people getting to church 7 hours early. That's where the problem comes.

SJ,

Why don't you put some cow pies on the seats that you want, go to the tailgate have fun and show up later to claim your seats. Take a bucket of water in with you to clean off the cow stuff and throw any left over water on the newbies who will be lurking close by.

Option 2, get some reserved seats on the baptist side and fire up these old geezers for once, they need some help. Most of them look like they had a bowl ofprunes for breakfast and can't find the bathroom. :D

I resemble that remark. But Super wouldn't be caught dead sitting on that side until he turns 30.

i don't know that he'd even be over there then.

oh yeah, i almost hit a group of CFAWs when i was driving back to my dorm. if they keep diving in the street like deer, in the middle of ridiculous traffic, you won't have to worry about many of them being at the game.

I'd be tempted to go over there just to see how many times I'd hear, "Down in front."

Although, I could end up like Crazy Towel Guy at Cameron Indoor. Anytime things die down with the students, they look up to the top of the section and see me and know to get it going.

Bryson, driving around campus at night with your lights off in your dark colored SUV just to swipe a few weekenders is wrong, but it does sound like a rather fun game to play in college.

i admit... i improperly cross the street daily.

the CFAWers are lucky i slammed on breaks in time. only because i had just seen a sign that said, "NO FACULTY PARKING - ONLY CFAW," did i feel like they were important enough not to strike with me vehicle.

i avoided them cause i cant afford a new bumper.
they can't drive either. they sit at stop signs for 10 minutes just looking around... i'm in a hurry. if there lost or don't know how to drive they need to park somewhere thats not in the middle of the road

That's why you're absolutely stupid to drive down the main road during CFAW. Go around back by the baseball field, behind Schilling, in between the Vines and DeMoss, and then you miss the entire traffic jam.

exactly....the only bad thing is people never, EVER know how to stop at that freaking three way stop....one car will go and then the car right behind that car will go as if it was a green light....almost always being female.....

ok....end of rant...

I have never heard "down in front" over there. Of course it wouldn't do much good if I did, I would just act like I didn't hear them or tell them to "stand up and shut up" :D

Seriously though there are some pretty good fans over there, just not enough of them.

Last week "our side" was pounding on the Thunder Sticks just as much as the students.
