9. Simple equation for Coastal offensive success: 40 + 19 = touchdowns.

Against VMI, Mike Tolbert ran for a school record 244 yards and Jerome Simpson, looked like Simpson version 2006, pulling two first half touchdowns.

They are the two most dynamic players at their positions in the Big South if not all of FCS football. There are not too many defenders who can take down Tolbert on-one-on, and surely there are no defensive backs who can cover Simpson one-on-one.

Without knowing anything about Tolbert, pretty sure we have 3 or 4 guys who can take him down 1 on 1 on our defense.

Note to Mr. Sawchick:

Football is a team game. It is not played one on one, so even if your comments about Simpson and Tolbert are true, they are irrelevant. What matters is productivity on the field against the opposing TEAM, and Simpson has not gotten it done this year to the level he did in the past. Tolbert has a gaudy yards per carry, which makes me wonder why the genius coach doesn't give him the ball more. Bottom line is the most PRODUCTIVE RB and WR respectively in the conference this year have been Rashad and Wynton.

He's only averaging 63 yards per game, and that's when the big game on Saturday. If they ran out of an I-formation like they used to with Pat Hall and the fullbacks, then yea, I'd be worried, but their coaches are Hell-bent on staying in the spread, even without Thigpen.
