I guess we're banking on him growing 6 inches from his junior to senior year?

A 5 guard lineup would be infinitely more viable than a 5 big lineup. We have verbals from a 6'10" and 6'9" in 08 and only one true guard (Curry). Tyler will still be around in 09 as well. I'm sure our staff aren't going to pass up on a big time post player if one comes our way, but the fact is, at the NCAA D1 level good perimeter play is more important than size.

The problem with those guys that are 6'10 and 6'9 is that while they may be tall, they are both wing players who play facing towards the basket. After this year, we're without a real post game.

2 years ago Villanova went with a 4 guard lineup and made it to the sweet 16. And almost went on because of a horrible call in the last minute of play to North Carolina. Granted they have alittle better athlete there but still I believe is a very viable option for small conferences.

tell West Virginia and their former coach they could not have been successful without a big man....oh wait, they were pretty good without one.

We will be better in a 4 guard lineup....also Gerge Mason had a bunch of guards, oh and Butler...we're fine

Was thinking of that example myself, but you beat me to it. And don't tell anyone, but the big men LU is recruiting (McMasters has committed, but there are others looking) are in the exact same mold as Kevin Pittsnogle and Jamie Smalligan.

i've not seen this kid play, but westover christian academy is normally flat-out awful. seeing the last name though, it appears that maybe he's a transplant to the area/program. as an aside...the new horizons school in danville that opened a few years back is quickly becoming a D1 basketball factory. liberty would do well to tap into that talent pool in the future.

Thanks for the insight. We did have some contact with the star of the New Horizons program this year but he signed elsewhere.
