Here's TE in Georgia that we apparently are showing interest in despite him not having made an official visit yet (wouldn't this weekend be great timing?):
Tyler Shook
6' 5" 232 lb Tight End
Winder (GA) Barrow High School
Clemson
Georgia Tech
Appalachian State (Offered)
Middle Tennessee State Liberty
Rivals Update 10/16 wrote:"I have an offer from Appalachian State pretty much. It's not in writing yet but I went to a Clemson camp and one of the coaches came up to me and asked if I was interested in playing for him. They wanted to get some film on me and now they're waiting to see about ten plays of me on tape blocking so I should have an offer from them soon," Shook stated.
"I'm also hearing from Middle Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, Liberty University, Clemson and Georgia, though I don't know how interested they are right now (Clemson and Georgia). Those are the main ones right now." Shook also stated that Middle Tennessee State and Liberty may be on the verge of offering scholarships.
Its not looking good for us. Too bad we can't get him in for an official visit tomorrow ...
Rivals wrote:Should the Mountaineers provide that scholarship offer, Shook says his recruitment could come to an end fairly quickly.
"I'm really leaning toward App State already," he said. "That's where I want to go. If ASU offers, I'm going to commit. I really don't see why I wouldn't commit because it's the place I want to go.
Rivals wrote:While App State is his clear leader, Shook did say Middle Tennessee State is currently his second choice. Despite visiting MTSU earlier in the season, the big senior prospect will be making another trek to Murfreesboro, Tenn., this weekend with the intentions of learning where he stands with the program.
No offer from App.st yet... according to the latest article
Barrow High tight end Tyler Shook hoped he would receive an offer from the Appalachian State coaching staff when he made his second visit to the high country back in mTyler Shook still hopes to be a Mountaineer next fall.
Unfortunately for Shook, the offer didn't come. Considering how ASU approaches the recruiting process, it really comes as no surprise that the 6-foot-5, 232 pound senior did not leave Boone, N.C., that day with a free ride to Appalachian State
Recruiting has been really dead to be honest," Shook said. "I tried to call Appalachian State all last week, but I was never able to really get anyone on the phone. I'm not freaking out about it though. I had hoped to hear more from them, but I'm not worried about it.
"They told me upfront that they didn't recruit players like a lot of other schools do where they stay on you all the time. They said that once their season was complete then they would start recruiting guys harder.

Not looking good for him right now IMO. Depending on how recent this article was, with signing day next week, he may be out in the cold, especially since he's made it clear that he wants to go to Appy. The other schools in the running may give scholarships they initially offered to someone who is ready to commit...
