Is that the place that is right before Waterlick while traveling on Leesville from Greenview Dr? If so, I thought that was gonna be like a fitness center. They brought in a ton of steel to build the building like 2 years ago and it's been sitting there ever since. Maybe that's a different place.

I play ball against Curtis in church league. He seems like a nice guy in the conversations we've had.

My claim to fame....last season, I blocked one of his shots. I don't mean I tapped it...I mean I sent it back. The ref, whom I work with in the COA, called a foul, & I just smiled. Curtis turned to me & said it was clean & it was a nice block. Of course, he then went on to drop 30+ without really sweating.

Man, you should have heard the stories he told about talking to the players on his visit to dook when JJ was set to break Curtis' record.

Also, Curtis is great friends with former UNC baller George Lynch. Curtis wanted to go to UNC, but Coach Smith said that they were set at the SG position with Donald Williams. Curtis didn't want to wait, so off to UVA he went. That same year, Donald Williams goes down with a shoulder injury, so Curtis would have got the PT he wanted. He said, oh well, that's how it goes. He did say he enjoyed his time at UVA.

I have accepted it...we're officially friends!

I'm working on starting a small business (not the amount of money that would have been involved in the fitness center) but the whole fitness center idea is really my first love and there is a very large market for it here in lynchburg even with the Y...there are a lot of unhappy people at the Y not to mention theres around 250 racquetball players that got hosed b/c courtside closed down....If I was a little older I would have just used that group to buy courtside, but I was to young at the time to think like that.

You, sir, are correct. I would have loved to see Curtis in Carolina Blue. On the flip side, he said he always elevated his game when he played against the Tar Heels. Looking at his stats against Carolina, I believe it. Kind of like Jason Williams that played at dook. He wanted to go to UNC, but Coach Gut said Ron Curry was running the point & Adam Boone would be there as well. Jason then took the offer from dook & proceeded to beat the Tar out of us while he was there. :(
