risher, eck, stewart, and bigby are all gone. everyone else is coming back. we should see jenkins, larry franklin (oklahoma city), and another big man sign.

I would suspect our Guest is someone who knows what he is talking about. The name Larry Franklin is one that we have not heard on this board but it is my understanding that he is a combo guard with Juco experience that should step in nicely. I saw Chris Jenkins' letter of Intent (LOI) today myself.... I watched Brew and McLean play together on the same team in pickup games today and they both looked really good. Alex must have had 7 or 8 dunks in the short period of time I watched. He looked like he is very long, strong and in good shape. Brew and Blair are gonna be a tough backcourt combo for sure.

Stewart is graduating early and moving on. Probably won't play ball anywhere else.

Eck - Do I need to say anything here - other than a disappointment and we need some scholarships back.

Risher - Like him, but too inconsistent to be an everyday point - With Brew coming in - not a lot of playing time available the next 2 years.

Bigby - Very Athletic, but off and on. Did not fit into the team game very well.

These are all my opinions and think these are all for the best, other than Stewart - I think he was starting to show some potential late in the year. I think we will be in a good position next year to get back into the Big South Hunt. Coach D and his staff had some mad some huge strides to increase athleticism and Basketball IQ. Well Done and I can't wait for Winthrop to come knocking next year - and remember it's going to be after Christmas Break and I Brew and Blair have a statement to make:)

Yes I did mean BJ. Chris Jenkins is a friend of mine from Northern VA. My bad.

If this is true, I will be sad to see Rish go. I saw this coming, but was holding out hope for him. I know he has been a bit inconsistent, but he has shown flashes of being a solid Big South point. With Brew and the new recruits coming in for next year I don't see much playing time for him anyways.

The other guys I would have thought as well, and wish them the best in all they do.

I agree with proto in that we should be able to get back in the Big South hung next year. With the addition of Brew at the point, and with Alex and others up front we should be right there with Winthrop.

Michael Jenkins is a friend of mine you guys probably see on CSN. I keep thinking his name whenever referring to the kid as well.

tough decisions but they had to be made. Hopefully these guys can continue on with their educations as well, if not here- somewhere else- thats whats really important.

Coach had to pull the trigger, it was either that or split cab fare w/ Karcher! I'm looking forward to next season already- can you imagine BSOUTH championships in FB, MBB AND WBB!

Risher was the only one I had not heard was leaving, but that doesn't surprise me in the least ... he was terribly unhappy by the end of the season. Never got going, and the academic thing screwed him up majorly.

I figured Monroe would get the boot. He was terrible. What is up with him.

It really depends on what Jones can get signed, but red shirting is a very big possibility

Monroe, from what I understand, has been redshirted for next season...but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

like I said it's not 100% but the chances of him getting redshirted are very very high....hopefully Jones can get another big man so this wont even be a concern

I'm pretty sure there is about .000001 chance that Russell does NOT get redshirted next season.

we still have the summer and the early fall to see russel. hes been looking good as of late. alex has been working him pretty hard, and finally showing him some agressiveness in practice. also armon jones has signed in november. he's 6'9 260. good feet, great hands and great body, and also has a very good basketball iq. but russel is really coming along. him and alex are working very hard, but none more than alex. he gets up every morning at 6 to run, and hes also a gym rat. should be a tremondous rebounder and can put the ball in the basket

that wouldn't be the worst thing for him. He seems to have potential but needs a little more experience. And that goatee I suggested.

Might be okay as a backup to Mclean next year or better yet redshirt and work on some things to improve.
