How good is the freshman QB they're starting tomorrow since the first two went down at last week's game?

Second in the state of PA in career offensive yardage. As a senior, threw for 3,057 yards and 32 touchdowns. Sounds like he had a great high school career, so tomorrow we'll see how he performs at the Div 1 level.

Exactly. Our defense needs to put some serious pressure on this kid, or he may get the best of us. It's a beautiful morning here in Toledo--hopefully things wont get too ugly for us in the glass bowl tonight...

There certainly is a precedent for a true freshman chewing us up. But this kid is really making his debut for all intents & purposes so he might be prone to being rattled.

If this kid was such a great quarterback, he wouldn't have gone to Toledo. There are God knows how many other schools in and around PA that have much better facilities and teams than Toledo.

Toledo's freshman QB came from the same high school that produced Chad Henne at Michigan, Kerry Collins from Penn State and the NFL and a slew of other players. Its a big time program.

I don't think you can really judge by the school though. People could say the same thing about LUs athletes too. There are a lot of other programs in and around VA with MUCH better track records.

We are just now starting to get those kids from the other schools, and a lot of it has to do with our facilities. Our FOC is better than Toledo's. We pack our stadium while Toledo's is only half full. You can see that we're "up and coming." Toledo is down, and everyone knows it. They also play in the worst conference in I-A football. If he was a great quarterback, he would've went somewhere besides Toledo.

Depending on the year, you are correct.

I've actually seen Wilson play- as we provide EMS for our local HS that is in their conf. Color me not so impressed. They are AA in a system that goes from A to AAAA, and the local team here in that conf has traditionally sucked.

Big fish- little pond. Not to say the kid doesn't have talent- but he's not from the same leagues that Brock and Gresier came from. Brock (Hershey) is from AAA and Ryan (Pennridge) came from an AAAA school.

As we've discussed ad infinitum, records look great on paper but you have to take into consideration the competition.

And there's the facts to back up my speculation.

side note: (quite bizarre)

Wilson is a small borough that borders the city of Easton, PA.

Easton kids go to Easton School District schools.
Wilson kids go to Wilson School District schools.

Easton High School (Class 4A) is located IN Wilson Borough, across the STREET from Wilson High School (Class 2A), however- it might as well be the Berlin wall between them. Easton kids are bussed into Wilson boro to attend Easton High School. :dontgetit

Medic did you miss my syrup slip? I am getting ready for the game, getting my dipping stick pizza, my chips, my woodchuck beverage, and going to enjoy myself. I have had a tough week, got a really tough week, have some pretty heavy health problems, but enough about that, I need a win, Brock and his girlfriend are coming up to my house next weekend, and we just need some good news, I do not want to be a downer but boy life can give you some tough cards sometimes. I feel like with you guys Faith is about as good a thing to have than anything else. I selfishly ask you guys for prayers, no treatment or cure exsists for me, so prayer is going to be the way.. Brock promised me a touchdown tonight. Lets hope it is the first of many.. Thanks for always being supportive of my bias rants...

Just wanted to stop by and wish you the best in Ohio tonight. This would be a signature win for your program and the Big South Conference.

Toledo's hungry, but they're also a team short on confidence. If your offense gives an effort like it did in Williamsburg recently, I'm sure the Flames can pull it off.

I'll take Liberty, 24-20. :P

Good luck!
