I love the IRONY in a guy named El Scorcho getting a "nasty" sunburn on Saturday. Doesn't a red headed, fair-skinned guy know to wear sunblock?

I actually attempted three times to acquire sunblock on my way to the game. (I wasn't coming from home.) Eventually it became a matter of getting to the game on time or just taking in some sun. Sadly, I'm all too aware of my need for sunblock.

I think you are bringing very good perpective to an issue that is easy to let become emotionally charged.

In short- you make good points while not glossing over our obvious immediate problems.

I just don't think we're placing very realistic expectations on the program considering that just two years ago the team finished 1-10. Also, I'm fully aware of Danny Rocco's resume. I still don't think that just because he was an assistant at some top notch D1 programs means that he had the amount of responsibility that he has now. Before he was a coordinator, meaning he was mainly focused on one or two aspects of the entire game plan. Now, he's responsible for helping with all phases of the team, plus recruiting and everything else. Give the guy some time. Just because the transition works a little quicker for the guy at JMU, you can't always assume it should work just as quickly for someone at another school. Also, I wasn't comparing Lu's program to Boise State in terms of on-field talent, facilities or anything in terms of resources. I was simply trying to say it took that program a lot longer than most people realize to get to where it is today. It will take Liberty, a program two years removed from going 1-10, quite a while to achieve even remotely close to similar success on the 1-AA level. Good things come to those who wait, not those who whine about not having them yet.
There's still a lot of games left and we have the players to compete in the Big South so I'm still optimistic about this year and Rocco seems like a real leader. For some of us, however, its been more like twenty years comin so I think its alright to be a little disappointed at the same time.

No because itd get used way too much and then people would start threads about how everyone hits the ignore button on them.

Do we have an ignore button? I need it for quite a few on here!
How about a button like on 'round the horn where someone gets silenced for a period of time?

We don't have an ignore feature on FlameFans because ignore features cause problems. For example, if I ignored SuperJon's posts, there would be all of these random replies to things he's posted that I would understand. Then I'd be posting things like "I must have missed something. Someone care to fill me in?" and that would be way more annoying than just dealing with Jon in the first place.

What we really need around here is for people not to take Internet message boards so seriously. Written communication is tricky enough and with as much of it as we all do, there are bound to be misinterpretations for any number of reasons. Inside jokes, sarcasm and a lack of tone have caused many problems on here, for example. They're not unique problems, though. They happen all over the Internet. We all just have to realize that even when we're "arguing" with each other, it's nothing more than chit chat to kill some time. If it was really all that bad, we'd be banning people left and right, you know? That hasn't been the case and I really hope everyone will relax enough so that it never has to be.
