BRISTOL — For one of the state’s all-time most prolific scorers, searching for a place to play soccer at the collegiate level wasn’t a long and difficult process.
Having scored a total of 68 goals over her four years in a St. Paul Catholic uniform, there wasn’t a shortage of phone calls from college recruiters or invites to visit particular campuses for Helena Pereira
But ultimately, soccer wasn’t the key factor in the decision as to where she’d head come the fall.
“I was looking for a Christian atmosphere,” she said. “That definitely was big for me and it made a difference in my decision.”
