Just to clarify, was Wrigley's first scheduled night game rained out, and the implication is that LU's could be, too?

Yup. Huge crowd, started raining, they called it off.

Sneaking something past you is like trying to sneak sunrise past a rooster... 8)

Fumble, I read your quote in a baseball mag. in the early '70s, talking about trying to sneak a fastball past Hank Aaron was like "trying to sneak the sunrise past a rooster." Did you read the same mag. in '72 or '73?

I SO would have answered the trivia question first had I not been changing diapers and trying to get a 2 week old to sleep all night. I have a poster of the first night game at Wrigley hanging 5 feet behind me as I type this. I was actually camping that night. We used a series of long extension cords plugged into the bathroom about 400 feet away and watched the game on a small black and white TV until the cheap cords running through puddles began to threaten our lives. Ah, what great times!

I hope things are better tonight, although a repeat of the slip and slide contest on the tarp would be fun.

I knew it was Wrigley...but the game went on the next night.

Guess I didn't get the Wrigley/Liberty connection.
