Wilson gave up a walk and a single in the bottom of the 1st but no damage on the scoreboard.
1 note we caught the guy who walked stealing on second!

We are now up 1-0 After 1-1/2 as Grijalva hits a double and Bream knocks him in with a single.
(we left 2 runners stranded though)

They have a second baseman named Anselmo Cantu. Wonder if he's related to Jorge Cantu.
We have bases loaded and 2 outs in the top of the third with recent hero Doug Bream up!
And he comes through yet again with the 2 rbi single we're now up 3-0

2 more runs in the top of the 6th and 8 batters make it 5-0 LU
Negron and Hollinger with the Rbi's.
We left the bases loaded though!

So you won't feel like you're simply talking to yourself...
...5-0 is good...but I know Coach will not be happy with all the LOB.

Put this one down in the win column for LU 5-1 over Norfolk State. Andrew Wilson goes 5 for the Flames to get the win and LU is now 4-0 under Jim Toman

A win is a win, but I agree with one of the previous postings that our offense is still trying to create a rhythm. Luckily Norfolk State isn't a baseball powerhouse and we can get a few more swings in before the offense catches up with the pitching. From the looks of things our next opponent, Ryder, hasn't found its way on to the playing field yet so lets hope the bats shake loose a little this weekend.
Did anyone else see the pounding the other conference teams took today? Ugly... double digit run difference losses doesn't help gain respect for the conference.
For those in the Lynchburg area... go support the team this weekend. Games are free and they deserve your support.
Go Flames!!!!

I hope to make it to at least one game this weekend with the kids. The leaving runners in scoring position issues will come along, it's a young team!
