assuming this one is under the lights at English Field in Blacksburg, judging by the 7PM start time? ATRAIN could actually make this one!

Lots of Sophs and Jrs on this team- they are in the bottom of their conf w/ an overall record of 17-27, 3-21 in the ACC.

In addition, we beat them back on March 8 on our field, 13-1. I wouldn't overlook them , though- we need to pitch well tonite.

With only one weekend game and no Big South series this week, Royer doesn't have to be shy about throwing his top pitchers in this one.

VT will throw a good pitcher as well. they are off this weekend from ACC play.

VT should be throwing Rhett who is a former Flame and wants to prove something to coach.....theres a little debate right now between the coach's about who should throw, Bach doesnt feel like he's ready since he threw well over 100 pitch's on Friday...but I have the gut feeling we'll still see him reguardless

I can't get the videostream to work. But the live stats are great.

Unfortunately we are down 5-3 in the bottom of the 3rd.

Solbach got lit up again tonight. This is starting to become a trend ... he can't afford to get lit if he's going to be the Friday starter in the last two Big South series.

Tyler Light is pitching well. Need to start scoring some runs. Look a little flat right now.

When are we going to let Ryan Page move back into the starting rotation? If I'm not mistaken, he's got the most wins for us.

The Hokies' pitchers have done a number on our guys tonight.

Its now 7-3 in the bottom of the 8th.

Tech playing on the emotion of the Hartman retirement announcement earlier. I'll miss Chuck. One of the truly great people I've met in my time in the biz.

Is that the head coach at Tech? If so, I've been told by numerous people that while he's a great coach, his time has passed him by. I wonder what my high school coach (who played for him) will say about it tomorrow when I talk to him.

Yeah, that's him SJ. He's been at it for nearly 50 years and is one of the top 5 winningest college coaches of all-time. So the time is definitely right. He's just a good person ... always treated me right when I covered VT while in college.

He had no chance of catching Augie (or Gus for that matter).

Not exactly one of our better performances of the spring.

He is a great coach and always has respected LU and JF for that matter, they have a pretty good relationship

A funny story about Chuck is when he passed up on Billy Wagner....I'll never forget at the Salem Baseball Hall of Fame dinner when he said (Billy that is) "good thing your not much of a talent evaluator!" Someone went up to Chuck after the dinner and asked him "What is it about a 100 MPH fastball that you didnt like?" it was pretty funny

sly why is it you always have to bring someone from texas into a conversation??does it matter he would not catch your texas brethren?? i cant believe im defendning someone from VT, but chuck hartman is one of the classiest coaches ever. and being up there on the all-time wins list is quite impressive. he did things the right way, and im sure all hokie fans will miss his him.

A tough loss. We have 3 days to get better and find some pitching. It would be tough, but it would be great to win most of the remaining games on the schedule.

The subject of Top 5 came up, smoothie. I can't resist. I'm sure Hartman is a great guy but I don't know anything about him. So I'll take the word of those who know him.

Wagner was throwing high 80's out of high school though. I can understand how someone would pass that up.

that's a true statement, he could only touch 90, but that's still better then most at that level.....it was more or less a joke though on him
