Interesting Year. Had a lot of injuries and still ended up with 36 Wins and finished 3rd in a decent conference. Pretty amazing especially since we lost 2 pitchers and Aaron Gr. Any word if Aaron is coming back? Hopefully we will hear announcements about some upgrades concerning the facilities soon. Second year in a row we lost in finals. I think Royer did a great job this year with what he had I just don't think we have the "star" talent we used to have. Just wanted to see where everyone thinks we will go from here.

I think we'll find out within the next week where we go from here.

I concur, krh. I was pleased with the outcome especially considering all of the injuries. I'd love to see some of our draft eligible guys back.

Next year we get Beakler and Nicely (The guy from Auburn) to add to our pitching staff. What is up with Grahalva? Academic issues or what. Hopefullly can get some JUCO's to fill in and some better recruits.

Grijhalva (sp?) Got hurt at the Arizona series and the announcer during the regular season series against WU said he was not coming back. He had already finished school. Also heard that he was coming back to work on grad work.

I think the team is VERY competitive offensively...
...depth, particularly in the infield may be an issue. Otherwise, it's all about pitching and pitching depth. One area that was definitely better was catching...we have two legit guys back there now.

I heard from MR today that Grajalva is coming back to play. He still has to confirm his verbal intentions..but I hear he is coming back. The rest of the story is this...MR has won three years in a row...36 wins 2005....39 last year and 36 this year. His teams have been in the champiuonship game 3 out of 4 years. He runs a clean program, doesn't ask for anything other than the respect he has clearly earned. Time for Barber to step up and be heard from. MR needs to hire another coach and get busy recruiting. This needs to be addressed so the program can get back to work. Either way I think it will happen in a weeks time.

That's why I said we'll know for sure this week. I have no clue what's going to happen, but if there's going to be a change, it's going to happen this week.

Judge; the only thing that proves is that MR has taken the program as far as he can possiblt take it. Its time that this program goes to the next level, BEYOND the championship game at Big South. Barber knows what to do. A change is much needed.
Did anyone see the nice write up on Tomlin in Sundays paper? It sure was good to see Him back in town.

indeed there are people in the royer camp and some that are not. if, and i said if a change is going to be made, im sure it will happen soon. i will say that this team has potential, and a lot to build on for next year. i do hope that we will hear about some major facility improvements though.

Concentrate on beating the flyes today MJ...the bitterness of not being good enough to be drafted was flatly on your back not Royers. Spike the ball will ya ?

That is yet another unwarranted personal attack by The Judge. He seems to pull these out every other week. Someone needs to fix that.

I was wondering why the baseball program was the only sport on the Liberty Home page under athletics under Dr. Falwell # 1 fan that did not submit a tribute to the impact Jerry has had on their program, and their lives personnaly. Every head coach but baseball has something nice written. Just wondering, as much as Jerry loved baseball.

Coach Royer and Terry Weaver were out recruiting Wednesday to Friday out of state...and they got back into town late Friday. Many of the old alums got together Monday and Tuesday along with Coach Worthington to pay tribute to Dr. Falwell. Attended his funeral as a group spread out over just a few rows. We were all together...Worthington, Bream, Guetterman, Tomlin, Dewitte. Secrest....and on and on. So don't even go there !

Oh, O.K. So what you are saying is that since MR was out recruiting, He had no time to write a simple little tribute to His leader on the Liberty Home page which EVERY other head coach took time to do.

I assume you meant to put that Coach Royer was there... I talked to him before the funeral .

Yes I meant coach Royer !

He was out of state Wednesday to Friday. He and I actually were on the same plane coming back into to Roanoke. He stayed back for the funeral on Tuesday as part of the baseball alums who all flew into town to honor Dr. Falwell. When he got off the plane Friday...he went directly to the clubhouse and left with the team for VMI for the weekend series. So....no he didn't pass your little litmus test for " who really loved Dr. Falwell. " I don't think you have a clue about what tribute really means. I should have had you sit with some of us older guys who would kick your small rearend for the crap you post. You a small man with big time psycholgical issues. Get help !!

Superjon...I shudder when you speak ! :) No hard feelings though. Don't know you. Your probably a very good guy underneath the safety of this thread. When I was in town last week...the guys who you all think would be the savior of the program don't have an issue with Matt as Head Coach. The one universal issue was the thin skinned few players and their willing friends who had mommy and daddy going to the AD and JF without ever going to the head coach first. It really was more about playing time issues..but the wimps know they can't say stuff like that..so they smear the coaches character instead. The good news is Barber already figured that out long ago. But it is about Little Johnie and playing time and it goes from there. Us old cronies just sit back and shake our heads at the lengths some will go to try and destroy a man's reputation. Where is the shame ?

I suggest the movie Anger Management ! Know the song " I feel pretty " ??? Oh so pretty ...Goose fraba !!!! Feel better ??? I do !

No more physical threats. If you can't respond with your brain, then don't respond at all. Seriously. Threats won't be tolerated.
