the flames hit the road for their final big south series to take on the keydets. VMI (33-17 overall, 9-9 big south) is coming off a 5-4 loss to ODU. game times are 7pm friday and saturday, and 2 pm sunday. the flames are third in the conference and i think could move up to second providing we take two games in the series and winthrop loses two to coastal. would we not own the tie-breaker since we swept winthrop?? SJ, are you gonna go to saturday night's game??

It's possible. It depends on if I get someone to go with and/or what I do on Friday.

I was invited down to a 3rd round playoff game by a high school coach in NC that I may go to tomorrow night. If I go to that, I doubt I'll have they money/gas to go over to VMI. It all depends on when I get paid too.

Winning this series (especially with the events of this week) will be huge for these guys going into the tournament

4-0 Flames in the 8th (the Live Stats from the VMI site are not being too helpful but I was able to glean that a bit) and we are still batting

It was scoreless until we scratched out four runs of which only one was earned.

Its now 4-0 in the bottom of the 9th.

A 4th straight quality victory over a Big South contender would be reason enough to celebrate. But it being the first real contest after our tragic week makes it all the sweeter.

I was saying a few posts earlier that this series is even more important beyond the conference seeding implications after the events of this week

Now we just have to rest all our pitchers. You knew we wouldn't throw our top guys this weekend, other than Stokes, with this series being so close to the BSC Tournament.

My guess is Vaden is starting today.

6-1 Coastal in the top of the 4th, if this keeps up LU should be the #2 seed.

Ian over on HPU board reporting that 1st and 2nd seeds will be whomever wins or loses the CCU/WU series this weekend, w/ LU being able to do no better than 3rd.

I'm no good w/ stats- so will let you guys hash that one out

WU is 15-5; LU is 13-7. That puts us two down with one to play...No way we can jump to 2nd.
