Red Lion Christian Academy (Del.) senior Joseph Feeley III recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Division I Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., becoming just the third athlete in Red Lion history to be recruited to a Division I university.

The Chesapeake City resident was a five-year starter for Red Lion and was an honorable mention selection to the All-State team in 2006, as he led all Delaware shortstops in runs scored (30), hits (32), batting average (.516), on base percentage (.697), doubles (6), strike outs (4) and home runs (6).

Feeley, who plans to major in business, has played baseball in the Claymont, Piedmont and Bear (Del.) Babe Ruth Leagues, is a four-year veteran of the Delaware Blue Rocks Elite Travel Baseball Team and plans to play with the Cecil Legion team this summer.
