the flames hit the road for a tuesday night contest against the tribe at 7pm. LU will try to avenge an 8-3 loss last week in lynchburg.

Heard there was a bigsmooth sighting in Raleigh last week? I would have come to the game if you would have let me know.

Payback time. We are playing better now with the Marshall sweep behind us and we seem to be healthy for a change.

William and Mary swings it a lot better than Marshall does though. A good pitching performance during the week would be really good and then rest up for a big series this weekend where taking 3 is a big plus and 2 is a must against a much weaker Charleston Southern team. CSU got swept by VMI, Coastal, and lost 2 of 3 to Asheville, as well as losing 2 of 3 to Marshall earlier this season.

looking at the results to date- interesting to note that, with one exeception in each case, when we score less than 5 runs we lose, when we score 5 or more- we win.

That sounds like a pitching problem to me what you just said. Maybe we have depth problems beyond the 3 weekend starters and the core relievers. I thought that the Wilson kid looked horrible yesterday of course no one else looked good either. Losses to teams in the state of Virginia really hurt since I get the perception that LU is just not respected that much in the state because of who we are and where we are at. Last nights embarrassing loss didn't help our situation at all.

LU is respected very highly around VA teams in the state actually. Coaches think they're team is extremely good team with a lot of high quality players....

I was thinking in terms of all sports not just baseball. I guess we hold our own in baseball and certainly are putting them on our schedule but some of the other sports respect seems to be lacking especially in football and hoops as of late anyway.

It may be true that alot of coaches think this, but it is not true of the fans. I live in Richmond, most people I come in contact with either don't know Liberty is even D-1, or they just figure they suck real bad.

i think that is a richmond thing. LU has a good rep around the state in baseball, and i think football is already turning heads.

I think that we will turn some heads if we knock off William and Mary in football this year.
