Eammon Portice's stats aren't the best this year, but the kid still has fantastic pure stuff. Anyone who has a chance to go watch this weekend should. The kid was still sittin 93-94 all the way into the 10th inning during the Big South Championship last year a very sick splitty. Go get 'em fellas. Solbach and him should have a nice little duel.

Down 8-3 in game three - Don't think we can afford losing this series with CCU, WU & VMI playing well this year

this team is proving to be schizophrenic in the early going :?

hope they pull it together.

After loosing today we take a break from conference action with a 500 record (Certainly not what I expected to this point and considering who we have played and have yet to play). Time to get some OOC wins and get healed up.

Our team is much much better than this...we're under achieving right now to say the least....hopefully our pitchers arms can stay attached long enough to get some wins!

The current RPI for LU baseball is like 79 .........Our starting pitchers have thrown 1 game per week....out of 26 games only seven times have the pitch counts gone above 100 pitches which is very common and extremely balanced.....Between the flu, chest colds, physical injuries on the field to two key performers.....I say this team has most likely OVER ACHIEVED considering what they have had to overcome to this point. When you think of an RPI of 79 out of 294 D-1 baseball programs....and stack that up against the big three mens sports at LU....I would respectfully submit that you are " saying the least " about the guys and the statement they are making nationally so far. The middle infield needs to get healthy and the center fielder needs to get back in the line-up. The pitchers are fine ! Them are the facts.

touchy touchy arent we? I didnt say the Starting Pitchers were over worked...they're arms are simply hurting!!!! He havent even hit the meat of our schedule so please post the RPI after we get through that (79 is great...after we get through the rest of our schedule that should put us in the top 50, as long as we win for the most part)....is it me or are there many many that are paranoid when it comes to our baseball program! Re-read what I wrote and ask yourself...hmmmm, did I just go off for no apparent reason!

PS...1 game per week is normal...so your bragging about a normal work load for a pitcher...would that mean it's different then days in the past? I cant figure out why else it would be worth pointing out in such a manner

Paranoia has killed many...dont become the next victim!

The meat of our schedule...
...I just love the fact that the meat of the schedule are the Big South games in Baseball...a reflection of the quality of the teams in th league. Perhaps, one day, basketball's RPI will go up becuase of the conference affiliation.

Last years schedule was the worst schedule in the last 15 years at LU. That's why you dont hear anyone saying anything about this years schedule. Yes, they are paranoid, it seems many dont want the stone to even be touched to see if anything scatters or not. It's entertaining watching some get blasted though.

Just to keep this post from looking negative from those with the tainted lenses, this is one of the better teams we've seen in the last few years. They should go deep and make the NCAA Tourny

I'm sorry, I don't see anyone beating Coastal in a tournament setting. That would mean an at large bid...and I don't think that will happen unless we literally run the table the rest of the way.

Anything can happen in a tourney format. A pitcher can get hot and force an upset by himself. But I agree that CCU is the no brainer dominant team in the league this spring.
