Some notes about our opponent:
  • picked 2nd in pre-season CAA baseball poll
currently 1-0, coming off a 6-0 win at Longwood
last 2 games cancelled due to weather (sound familiar?)
face many of the same opponents we do: incl JMU, CCU, Radford, George Washington, Richmond, Willam/Mary, Va Tech, George Mason
VCU finished 33-22 last year, incl losses to LU of 6-5 and 9-2

Just got off the phone with sports information ... they worked a miracle with the field and the game will be played at Worthington at 2:30 p.m. Thank goodness. I miss college baseball. Haven't covered a game since my senior year at Tech, being as I was in a non-college baseball market for eight years. PING!

SJ- yes, the Danville thing was a backup if they couldn't get the field ready at Worthington.

there was nothing better than watching an entire team in shorts and long socks with little shovels trying to clear an entire baseball field...if only I had peanuts

I love watching the shorts and long socks trying to get the field ready. That's actually some of the most fun times you can have as a baseball player. I don't know why, it's just fun.

And yea, I found out that the game was happenin on campus today, the bad thing is I have Evangelism at 2:45 and New Testament at 3:50. I get to watch The Gospel of John instead of The Gospel of PING. I'd rather hear the pings.

That was me, I'm too lazy to sign in on a friend's computer. Now it's time to find something to eat.

I said I enjoyed it myself. One of the most fun days I had last year interning at my old high school was when we were getting the field ready. We practiced a little bit and then goofed off working on the field the rest of the time. HMO said it first.

Listening on line- had some issues on my end w/ the server here at work.

Brock Smith just caught a fly ball. Guess thats a good sign. or maybe just ironic.

1 down in the bottom of the ninth.

Hollinger- the tying run- at the plate, 0-2. Bad comedy on the air right now. We have 5 errors today- which is evidently not helping .

Fly out almost to the warning track- 2 down.

last chance to avoid letting VCU come from behind in the 9th to win.

0-2. not looking promising
