So I'm perusing the World Baseball Classic rosters and Flames fans may remember this fellow from Team Canada:
Looks like he was called up to triple A toward the end of the season and did well in his short stint at that level. He got an invite to the MLB spring training this year so hopefully he can get added to the 40 man roster by the end of the season.
Canada has very little buy in from their best players for the WBC and its disappointing to see. They don't have the depth that Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic or Venezuela has but they have some stars that could make them much more competitive if they would play. Several countries have never had this problem and the US and Mexico is starting to see a huge shift in attitude from its best players, its time canada jumped on the bandwagon. The WBC is growing into one of the best events in baseball.
