Last game in the Bellarmine series... Landon Riley gives up a 2 run homer...

He is on the hook for the loss, but LU wins anyway and Riley gets a W in the books.

That's wild.

Happens all the time in baseball. Blow a hold/save and your team comes back to win in the bottom of the last inning, you get the win.

Yep. That's usually the only way a closer will get a win. Either that or they come into a tied ballgame.

ElRoy Face, closer for the '59 Pirates finished 18-1. He blew a few leads that year :)

:D That was before saves were a thing, and more than one reputable person has suggested that some of those blown leads were not exactly accidental. 8)
