3 to 0 shutout.

Another strong outing from hand backed up by britts fluharty and riley. Highfill stays hot.

Guessing we will try a staff say tomorrow against a very good ecu team on the road. Maybe try to get 2 innings each from barker garrett price and erickson and piece it together.

Tough series with kent state this weekend as well whos 19 in rpi and ecu is top 30. Still early for rpi but these games are huge.

Hope we can beat ECU, that'll give us a sweep of Pirates in softball and baseball.

We lose 11-0. Only had 1 hit. Not a good day.

Bats have got to wake up. Not really sure why we put this game on the schedule. Jackson traditionally has not played 2 midweeks.

Garret and barker pitched well. Haga and gordon struggled and erickson got lit up again.

We are missing from last year, Embry, Mattheiu (injury), Wagner (injury), and Galazin our top hitters. Mattheiu and Wagner were the two big bats returning from lat year and hit 13 HRs between the 2 of them. We may have to play similar to what Coastal has done for years - a lot of small ball - bunts, steals, and more bunts (as opposed to striking out with runner on 3rd base with less than 2 outs which has happened a lot . . . and hope pitching holds up.

Haga went out with arm (elbow?) issues.

I dont disagree but take out longwood and were just brutal. I mean there is still enough talent there that we should be atleast average offensively with highfill stepping up. Just dismal hitting with risp is the real prob. Today is the first game that we really didnt have baserunners

Coastal also hit a boatload of HRs when they were in the BSC. I haven't followed them since they left. If we can get Wagner back in there and Betts can start producing the way he did last year, it will go a long way toward solving our offensive woes. Highfill and McDyre have been unexpected bright spots.

Totally agree that scheduling this game was a :dontgetit . The only thing I can figure is he wanted to get a look at his second line pitching and it was basically a throwaway. ECU had not played since Sunday and was using their regular mid-week guys, but you still expect to get more than 1 hit.
