Jackson is running meyer back out there after a short start saturday. Looks more settled and fastball is in 87 to 89 range. Wake surprisingly being veey aggressice early after meyers command struggles saturday.

Same lineup which is not good meaning rorher and locklear are not back yet. Locklear is in dugout standing.

Wakes starter was sitting 92 and mowed down first 7 flames before guy ignited a rally highlighted by 2 excellent pieces of base running by karraker and galazin.

Wow karraker made an incredible catch over wall. Hes played much much better today in the home confines. Credit where credit is due.

Meyer has been pounding the zone. Dominant other than 2nd.

Weve been flashing the leather all over the field. Near perfect game so far other than heid striking out with 1 out and stranding wags at 3rd after a perfect sac bunt from highfill. Its a shame the kid cant hit because he is silky smooth in the field and so fundamentally sound bunting. Big kid too.

Karraker with the two out, bases loaded double to clear the bases. LU 7-2 in the bottom of the 7th

Meyer goes into the 8th inning & Erickson strikes out the side in the 9th. What a turnaround from Sat.

Good mid-week win. Lots of free passes from the WF pitchers. Good production today from the bottom of the lineup.

Final LU 9, Wake 3

We aren't hitting well, but I really like our approach at the plate. We have a plan and aren't just trying to hit homers every at bat. The hits will come as the weather warms up and we get healthy. Lots of potential with this team right now.

I was told our right fielder made a catch that's worthy of ESPN Plays of the Day tonight. And should be #1.

The staff is at least 8 deep now. I could still see hand stamper good or brockman helping some as well as they pitched a good bit last year.

Defensively we played unbelievable. Wagner booted a texas leaguer in the outfield for the only error but man did exhibit d. Guy hosed a guy at the plate, karraker made the highlight catch, galazin and highfill made 3 or 4 plays and embry came out on a perfect bunt and hosed a guy. We get rorher and locklear back and our pitching and defense will keep us in games.

Hitting wise jon is correct. We arent hitting great but guys are having great at bats and capitalizing on pitchers that want to nibble. Base running is there as well. If we can be an average offensive team this year we are going to win a lot of games.

By the way. Its only 4 games in but we sit at number 1 in nation in rpi. Duke and carolina are both 4 and 0 and sitting in top 20. We have the schedule to keep that rpi in the top 40.

Also stetson and jacksonville have started 0 and 3 each.

If you listened to radio today you may have caught this, but if not, Nick and Kevin had a great conversation about scheduling. We now have four man umpiring crews and instant replay at home games. Plus we replaced our turf this year. This was done to attract the local ACC schools to play us in the midweek. The idea was we wanted to make the games as similar to a weekend as possible for them so there’d be no excuses not to play us in Lynchburg.

You were told right. He was lucky he didn't break his neck. Looked like a running QB hitting (which he was in HS I beleive) the line and diving over and landing on his back. Scary but impressive.

I noticed the 4 man and replay. New infield is brighter than the outfield. The viseo board seems small now thanks to football ha.

Wake has been a team that looks to ambush first pitch fastball as their approach for a few years now.

Did anyone notice the photo of Meyer on the LU baseball website ? He's a lefty, but caption under photo says right-hander.

Im not seeing the correllation to new infield turf. I guess i could see replay and 4 man crew but weve been playing both vt and duke every year twice and uva twice most years. We brought wake back in last year which was likely jackson connection. Unc he has his obvious connection there.
