Hopefully we will be playing baseball today. Scheduled to start at 9:30 am vs 7th seed Gardener Webb.

Start time has been delayed. As of yet no re-scheduled time has been announced.

They got about an inch and a half of heavy rain on Monday and steady rain yesterday..the rain has held off most of today so far, but sounds like the field isn't drying out..and more storms are expected this afternoon..doubt they play today, and will be tough for them to get it started early tomorrow with all the water the field has taken on. Will be curious how they get all the games in by Sunday.

Move the tourney to LU, where it should have been to begin with. Problem solved.

The Big South just announced that there will be no games today.

The Sun Belt Tournament is being hosted by Georgia Southern and having the same issues. They just announced they are switching to single elimination. Will the Big South possibly do the same? If they can get 4 games in tomorrow, they could still get it done by Sunday...but that's a big 'if'.

I hope that they don't go to a single elimination format but they may not have a choice.

You can bet that with KK in charge, it will be hard for this to end well. If it can be screwed up.................

There could be issues with local noise and lights abatement laws concerning that, but otherwise, I would think they may need to do something along those lines. The other option would be to cancel the whole tourney and name the regular season champions (Winthrop) as the BSC representative in the NCAA tourney. Any more rain, and it could come to that.

They should go to Single elimination format. That would be smart thing to do.

I haven't seen a report yet today about field conditions...if they can get started today at 11am as planned, then they can still fit in the tournament barring any further setbacks (and the weather forecast is pretty good from now until the end of the weekend)...but if they can't start on time today, they'll have to alter the format...

As of now when will the championship be?

If Im reading the Big Soth website (Im surprised someone hasn't noticed that yet) correctly, it would be on Sunday. The time Sunday depends on how things shake out

This is ridiculous... Not helping Pitcher either... We are getting blown out right now in the first game of tourney!

2 innings, 7 hits allowed, 2 errors, 6 unearned runs. 8-0

And just like that we are down 9-4 after a grand slam by Barbee

GRAND SLAM... Hopefully that woke up the boys!!
