Or, as well as know it, Virginia Tech.

Flames take on the Hokies today. Tech is coming off a 3 game sweep of their rival Virginia.

Lets GO LIBERTY!!!!

With VT sweeping UVA, LU needs to beat VT today. Hopefully VT is still celebrating their wins over UVA. We need some ACC wins.

Uva is reeling. They were blown out by odu in a midweek bout and lost 1 to pitt the weekend before. Thats 5 of 7 losses.

Stafford pitched one heck of a game today. I hope that we can hold on to win. Up 7-1 in the 8th.

Sankey just hit his second homer of the day. This one a grand slam. 12 -2 top of the ninth.

Great win. I don't like the trend of 9th inning play.

We need to develop more back end pitching. Clowers is the only reliable late inning option. We have to move perritt back now thats hes going to play everyday or herndon could be possible if he comes back this year. Solid win.

Good even when you are writing about your alma mater getting knocked around?

Chris, why doesn't the Danville paper have your articles in it on LU sports ? Lynchburg and Danville papers share articles on high school games and others as well.

LANG wrote:Nick Salisbury, Liberty’s 5-foot-5 second baseman, singled in the first inning, part of a career-best four-hit day.
LANG also wrote:Salisbury, who had just 10 hits all season and was batting .217 entering the game, raised his average to .275 with his performance. He also helped turn two double plays and had two different chances to hit for the cycle after hitting a single, a double and a triple in his first three at-bats.

Salisbury popped out in the seventh to shallow right. Before his plate appearance in the ninth, Toman told Salisbury to swing as hard as he could. The advice from Sankey, who has a team-best four home runs this year:

“I don’t know. I didn’t really know what to say. Grow a little bit?” he said with a laugh.

The diminutive Salisbury swung out of his shoes and roped a hard line-drive double off the left-field wall for his fourth hit, joining Dalton Britt as the only LU player to reach the four-hit mark this year.
I'm a fan of this kid already. But "diminutive" ??? REALLY Lang? You too Sankey.

On behalf of this kid- we're offended. The word is "Smedium"... pronounced "shmee-dee-um"

and chicks dig us 'cause we're travel sized

Danville doesn't have quite the interest in LU that Lynchburg does, and it usually has much tighter space. They care more about Duke, UNC, Tech and UVa.

Danville prints just enough in Sports section to still be able to call it a newspaper. Very limited coverage of any team(s).

That first sentence. LU generally has little interest outside of Lynchburg and its immediate surrounding area. Roanoke cares little about anything in Lynchburg in general (other than the train), Farmville is pre-occupied with Hampden-Sydney and Longwood, Charlottesville is Wahooland.

Most LU alums who leave Lynchburg tend to go beyond Roanoke, Danville, etc. I present the following exhibits to support this argument:
Myself, Sly Fox, GMTM, JCManson, JDUB, Medic, HBurgFlame, 01LUGrad, etc...

I think we were ranked 113 in RPI yesterday. Ranked 95 today. Seems weird to see Virginia ranked at 96. Couple good or bad days make a big difference this early in the season.

It also doesn't matter where you are this early in the season, but rather where you are at the end. Just out of curiosity, where are Coastal, Winthrop and Campbell?

Those RPI do seem weird. Actually I thought we'd be higher than VA at this juncture, based on OOC games played so far.

It does matter early. If ur at 150 its gonna take a lot to move into at large discussion with a mediocore conference. Now if ccu winthrop and campbell hold that will help. Keep in mind we lost wvu and gt rpi games. That uncg loss is probably costing us about 10 spots right now. As th season goes on kent state and ecu will help.
