Yes, they looked good doing it too. Bean didn't give up a hit until the 7th and pitched a complete game. We still left too many runs out there (at least twice, a man on third 1 out and didn't score), but we are hitting the ball pretty good. Close hit the wall in left-center and legged out a triple.

Guys like Sankey, Yacyk, Stroosma and Britt seem to have a pretty consistent approach., and it's showing in the stats. Taormina looks like he might be the answer at 3rd, and A Close is starting to come around

Don't see this every day.. West Carolina's run came on a home run that bounced out of Trey Roberts' glove as he lept into the wall.. would've been a heck of a play too. Nice that he hit a triple and scored the next inning though

Sweep of both games today. The guys are looking pretty good at the plate and the pitching is solid. Many very good defensive plays, especially in the last game. Alex Close came in to save game 2 and looked excellent on the mound. Don't really like an every day player being the closer, but he is a stud. Both games were very well coached, wouldn't have changed but one very minor thing, certainly can't say any mistakes were made in this area. Hope we can keep the train rolling.

That was a salisbury error at 2nd on a fairly routine ball that allowed all 4
Runs. Weve found several of the answers at 3b and outfield now we just need to figure 2nd base. If derek perry wins the job my preseason lineup will be almost exactly right. I guess lyons will be on the bump today. Did wcu feature a righty heavy lineup? Seems toman wanted to get perritt and bean against them and the lefties against penn state.

Keranen was doing fine there. His ba and ob% was better than Salisbury. But you will keep giving some players chance after chance while others if they start hitting they are done. It means a lot if the coach has your back and you know it. You stay relaxed. Sammy is hitting well and hasn't done bad at 3rd. Paxton is hitting far better than Stroosma. You cant bank on people getting on base because of peoples errors which is what happened to Salisbury in the beginning. He hasn't cracked 200 this season and has had a lot of at bats. Glad to see Bean and Perritt have good games.

Shawn Clowers continues to do an amazing job. Combining last year and this one to date he is 14-0 with an ERA just north of a run a game.

Struggling all day with ducks on the pond. Finally another penn state error in the 7th gets us tied up. We need shepherd and perrit in the lineup and producing really badly.

Ugly game on defense and offense, but we still pull out a win. Wind was blowing pretty hard witch was part of the reason for 7 total errors in the game. Close comes through with a clutch double in the 8th and our 3rd baseman made an all world play on a hard hit ball on defense. A w is a w.

That play by third baseman should be play of day on Sportscenter. Maybe best I have seen in over 50 years watching baseball .

We're still not playing our best. We've been given 27 (unearned) runs in 18 games, not to mention scoring on wild pitches and HBP. Not sure how long this good fortune is going to last . . . and only batting .248. I'll take 12-6 and hopefully we can upend VT on the road Tuesday and sweep Radford this weekend.

I am biased, but that should have been play #1. But any rate, good to see LU on Sportscenter.

Just thinking out-loud about ways Liberty could enhance the stature of the Invitational in order to increase RPI opportunities through SOS.
its got to be tough competing with warmer weather tournaments down south. What if Liberty were to broadcast all the Invitational games vs. just the Liberty games. Would it be a selling point if all games were televised.
Potential visiting teams could use it in recruiting since the families/fans always wants to see their kids play as much as possible. Instead of the extra broadcast games becoming a burden on the talent, perhaps 90.9 The Light could handle the non-Liberty games, allowing kids to build their resumes a bit.
Or, is it just a dumb idea (:

I like to see all games carried on 88.3,, which has a good signal. 90.9 has a very weak signal, that probably can't reach Campbell County.
