CF Prospect Nate Dalton

If you have been reading the football forum you know this kid is a 3 star CB and we are in his final 4 along with Arkansas, Kentucky and Michigan. Apparently he is interested in playing both sports, which may be why we are still in the running. I know Toman has indicated he would prefer not to play Perrett full time in CF to save his legs for his closing duties. Maybe a guy like this, a great athlete with speed to burn could allow him to move Ashton to DH. Thoughts? Anyone have a clue if he is a legit D1 baseball prospect? I assume he would be on a football scholarship, and would need approval from HCTG to play baseball.

Perritt is a senior. Is Dalton playing this spring?

When was the last time we had a legit two-sport star here..Theresa Bream perhaps?
I know Walt Aikens dabbled in basketball and Jessica Nelson played basketball for a couple games almost out of necessity, and we have had some athletes in other sports use track almost like cross training of sorts, but when have we had someone who starred in two of the major sports on campus?

I don't know that I'd call him a star but Mark Reed started for both the baseball and basketball teams in the mid nineties.

Perritt is a non issue as hes a senior. I think we will have the outfield depth to rest him some this year if we so choose. Im hoping this works out

Playing in this area, if Nate has any baseball skills at all he is getting plenty of looks from MLB scouts. Practically every HS game in this area (CyFair/Klein/Tomball/Spring) has half a dozen scouts attending.
