LU trailing 4-1 late in game. Hopefully we can make a comeback. It would be embrassing to lose to Radford.

It was a good one. Now it's time to start a new one.

Bats are still asleep . maybe we need to do a makeover of the batting order. 1 run against Radford is beyond pitiful .

Good response from the guys in game 2...now to close out the regular season on a winning note and sweep the conference series for the season

Who pitched in game 1 for us? I like the resilience this team has shown throughout the season, but I'm a little worried about it lasting through the tournaments.

Lambert. Threw 78 pitches in four innings. Pennington went the rest of the way. I assume he'll still go Bean today and maybe try to bring Trey back on short rest Tuesday.

I imagine Bean will go 4 innings and . . . usually Clowers but not sure who follows up Bean today. Pennington and Clowers and Marsh had pitched their fair share yesterday. Maybe Stafford and Parks if there is a substantial lead otherwise . . . It would be imperative that we get to 40 wins and take 2-3 from RU.

Very weak weekend showing from the team. Looks like everyone is content with making a regional. Some very questionable decisions Toman regarding the lineup. Terrible showing all weekend. The guy's need a sense of urgency or they will be sent packing early in the conference tourney as well.

As good as the team has been this year, they sure did suck over the last week. I laughed at the batting averages of some of the Radford players, but they seemed to have no problem against our pitching. Nothing like losing three of the last four to leave a bad taste in the mouth. Hope the guys get their heads straight before the tourney... They won't win playing like that.

So call me debbie-downer, but Flames lose its first BSC series this year to Radford today with 4-2 loss Saturday.

Lang says per twitter "that LU will drop out of all four national rankings after a 1-3 week."

LU @ # 1 will now play # 8 Gardner Webb.

Other BSC Tourney matchups will be:

#4/5 RU vs. #4/5 HPU

#3 Campbell vs. #6 Coastal

#2 Winthrop vs. #7 CSU.

They may actually hang around in the two rankings that utilize top 30s, but they'll be out of BA and PG. Could end up being a wakeup call. Still think they're solid for a regional.

And for people ready to jump off the ledge, Virginia lost a road series to Wake Forest, which was barely above .500. It happens. Tough to go through any league nearly unscathed.

Lemme see if I understand how this works.

Liberty with a win would play the winner of Radford and High Point while the loser plays the loser of that game. Same with the bottom 4. The winner of the losers bracket game would then play the loser of the winners bracket game and that winner would (assuming Liberty holds serve in game 2) have to win twice and face the winner from the bottom bracket with the same setup

Don't think everyone is content. Cant for the life of me understand why you start a dh who has
158 avg. with 19 ab. How long do you let people who are 1 for 26, or 2 for 30 , 1 for 19 keep
getting at bats. Seems to me maybe you should be looking elsewhere for offence. I know a
few who could change and you wouldn't lose anything on defense either. I think coaching could
have been better on this one.

Since Winthrop hasn't been in the conference tournament the last couple of years, I haven't really had a reason to rant about this...but how in the world does the Big South make the Friday 'if necessary' games only 7-innings? Hey, let's play a whole season of 9-inning games and then when it comes down to determining who is getting to the championship game (while possibly ending another team's season), let's go ahead and play only 7 innings. Will next season's basketball semifinals have 32-minute games? You all know I don't complain about much at all, but I can't figure out why they do this...
