Liberty takes on the former Fighting Christians on Tuesday.
In other news, PC defeats #26 Central Florida. At this point, any OOC by our conference mates can only help us.

Hopefully the bats will come alive tonight, and we put this one away early.

We're pitching like crap and giving away a game. It's 7-3 right now.

Arbright stafford and parks have just been unwatchable. We see why they havent been pitching. This looks like our old midweek games.

Is coach being nice and letting the bench play? Playing like a scrimmage... Like the game doesn't matter.

We're already in a regional. That's what matters to him.

And even if you do win out, getting to host a regional is a 50-50 proposition at best.

If chances are relatively slim for hosting, I guess it is nice to let some guys get playing time at the last home game. I know one thing, Elon is letting everyone pitch.

Both teams are working pitchers who don't get any time in order to see who they can rely on come conference tourney time.

Makes sense. I don't know jack about baseball or baseball strategy. My business partner played for LU and he always reminds me of how little I know about the game!

I was just thinking about this...right now we have our top 3-4 pitchers for the tournament: Lambert game 1, herndon or Fulghum game 2 (depending on how Herndon's arm is doing), Bean game 3. the real question comes if we end up in an elimination game. I think if Carson is available for game 2, that opens up Fulghum for the elimination.

Dude, Herndon had Tommy John. He's done until 2016.

Ahh...forgot that detail. That being said...probably Lambert, Fulghum, Bean with Lyons and Clowers in case of an elimination game (Clowers being our top reliever at this point).

Well glad we were able to help Elon end their 6 game losing streak. Costly error in the inning when we gave up the slam. Trying to host a regional or not we can't lose a game like this.

I agree Jon...that said, we gotta put this one out quickly and dominate Radford this weekend and get our lineup ready for our first tournament game next week. If I understand the bracket right, we are on the upper half with Radford, High Point and Gardner-Webb headed into this weekend

Unfortunately the error was a tailor made double play ball that would have got us out of the inning with no runs being scored.

Read the game story and sounds like we are in a bit of a pickle. Lyons is dealing with shoulder stiffness and ace Lambert has back trouble. If Thursday is rained out (which is very likely), it probably means either Fulghum or Bean starts Friday, and possibly the lead pitcher come Tuesday (against likely Gardner-Webb).

It would have been nice to make that play but you cant assume a double play. After all we had several chances to make them against uva and didn't. Its always a hard one from 3rd to 2nd to 1st.
But and error , walks and hit batters and add a few hits in there does not make for a good night.
