Another ACC game, if this wasn't a 4+ hour drive I would go to this one. But this as a win-win, if we win our RPI jumps way up and if we lose our RPI still goes up.

I really wish I wasn't on call this week or I would totally be there. I know non-conference games like this are just icing on the cake if we win, but I am so excited about this game. I hope I can find a stream online somewhere.

Midweek baseball games are rarely televised.

Also, to get geared up for the game, read my feature on Alex Close and how he's rebounded from his sophomore slump:

Anyone planning on going up? Thought we would have a decent amount of fans going up but students are probably headed home for the summer.

If I were anywhere in the region I would be there. With no television and the school year wrapping up, it is the perfect time to make the run up to Charlottesville.

Is this the biggest regular season game in LU's history, in any sport ?

Going against the #1 ranked team in the country late in the season with postseason implications, I can't think of anything close to it.

I'll be watching in my office again today. Mercer just upset florida yesterday. I'm hoping LU does the same with UVA.

For once ballcoach you aren't speaking in unnecessary hyperbole...pretty big game for sure...only game I can recall across all the sports pre field hockey (regular or postseason) of relatively equal magnitude was the LU-UTK women's basketball game in 1997

Not sure it is equal/bigger than any game we have ever played. We are going to the playoffs unless we lose the rest of the games on our schedule, so no playoff implications. LU played #2 South Carolina in baseball back in the 70"s. I would argue a top 10 in golf and 3 or 4 national championships in CC and track were bigger. I could also name 2-3 (at least ) football games that were bigger, because we would have made the playoffs with a win, we just happened to lose them all. I can recall our first win over a FBS team, that would be as big or bigger than beating UVA in a baseball game. Women making the Sweet 16 in basketball was bigger.
My .02 from a real old timer. 8)

But hey, if we win this one, I am going to act like it is our biggest win ever. GO FLAMES !!!!!!

I was referring to the possible regional host for the playoff implications.

Top 10 golf is a result. I think I'm one of only about 10 people on this board that follow the golf team. I appreciate what they did, but it is not a spectator sport and garners little attention. I understand your position on the others, but I disagree. We are a top 25 team of all collegiate baseball programs and we are playing the number one team in the nation. I don't think the others match up to it.

I am still mad I can't make it to UVA tonight for this game! I know in the grand scheme of things this game matters very little but as the top ranked club in the country it is hard not to get too excited for this game.

There is a cost and University of Virginia isn't going to get a cent out of me, so its 90.9 and Nick Pierce for me.
