No.

If 9 days off does anything it gives the guys a chance to rest.

I guess we will revisit this in about 15 days and see what happened. I think 9 days is too long.

We'll get to warm up against UVA before we head into the Coastal series. I think our guys both deserve and need the rest period, especially after this past week.

Absolutely not...when you have a grind like this, you need a break. guys can nurse minor injuries, focus on exams and get some light work to keep themselves fresh.

I think the rest is good but I also think 9 days is a long time between games especially when you come back against #1 team in the country.

I can't wait for next Wednesday. I plan on hitting up Citizen Burger before the game. Go Flames!

Definitely excited about the game. I would assume this would be the biggest victory in school history if we are able to take down #1?

I seem to remember us taking out UVA in Charlottesville 2 years ago when they were ranked in the Top 10... I think. Details are a little fuzzy, so maybe someone else could come in with the assist here.

9 days is long, but I think rest will be good. Against UNC_A on Sunday, team looked tired, out of focus. The break will be good, and I am sure Coach will have good practices during the break.

If we can beat UVA and win BSC tourney, I think we could be a Region Host. It would be great seeing some of the "big guys" come to Lynchburg.

Went to that game. We won 8-0. That was the last time UVa had been shutout until this past Saturday. I believe they were Top 10 but can't remember. Very few LU folks, i expect that there will be more next week.

I think the rest is needed- Seiz tweeted something to that effect.

time to refocus and finish strong. Anything can happen in the tourney- look at last year.

I watched those losses and if they had been wearing a different uniform, I would have never guessed it was Coastal Carolina. We cannot overlook them, but this has definitely been a tough season.

for what its worth, UVa lost to ODU tonight.

That will knock them out of the #1 ranking.

It might...

The hitting slump actually started before the 9 day break. Against UNC-A, one could see it coming. We struggled to win all 3 games. I wish we could have had a game on day 5 of the break.

I wouldnt pin it all on the 9 day break personally, but it certainly played a role

I knew it would hurt us. Some of you were so sure 9 days was fine. I'm not saying our struggles are completely because of the 9 days off because as has been pointed out our hitting was struggling some just before the break, but the record speaks for itself, 6-6 after that break.

With that said, it's a new season. Let's get some bacon Friday!

Woohoo you were right L22! At least in your opinion. No telling whether they would have done better without the rest or not.
