Jared Lyons (2-1) .. rough start the last time out, but was absolutely dominant in earlier outings.

Actually, Lyons has been shaky his last 2 outings, against Richmond, and Maryland before that. He was as effective as anyone on the staff prior to that. Hopefully he will get back to his early season form tonight.

Lyons stinks. 3rd game in a row allowing 4 or more runs. And it's only the 2nd. What happened to him?

He was pretty awesome early in the year so I doubt its that he all of a sudden decided to suck...there may be something in his mechanics in the last few starts. Pitchers are notoriously known for being exact in everything...even their pitching motion. you make even a slight hiccup mechanically and it can alter your pitches pretty significantly

Yacyk with a 2 run bomb in the bottom of the fifth. 4-2 Tech.

I guess I'm not as disappointed as a UVa fan might have been after they lost to VMI. I do wish we would always beat the state teams. I do think we are over-rated, but what do I know.

Overrated is a bit much. outside of a couple innings on both sides it was a real pitchers duel and they came out on top. Even the best teams drop one from time to time. no reason to give up the ship yet...we have one more tomorrow and then the easter series this weekend.

I think you're missing the point BJ. keep in mind how highly we are rated right now. 16th in the RPI and 30th in the coaches poll. I think rogers3 is just saying he's not so sure we're the 16th best team in the country, and I think he may have something there. It's a problem that hasn't come up much in the history of LU athletics. That doesn't mean we aren't really good, as in probably the best baseball team LU has ever had.

Really bad at bats in the 9th especially shepherd. He deserves to sit a game after swinging at 3 balls in the dirt. Toman called him back after the first bad swing and it got worse from there. I still think we need britt in the 2 hole. Allen killed 2 rallies and left seiz on deck twice. Id also change close and sankey in thr lineup.

Why sit Shephard?? Punishment?? I agree that it was a terrible AB but he's been great this year, tied for 3rd best average. It's not like he cost us the game there with no one on. I agree about Britt would like to see him and Allen swap, and maybe even hit lead off with Shephard back in the 2 spot. Anyway, there's no need for drastic changes by any means, it was a tough loss in a tight contest.

Hes been great but that was just an atrocious way to approach that ab. Its not massive changes its just protecting seiz and deepening lineup.

We may not be the 16th best team true...but what is helping us is we are winning games and we arent cursed with a ton of dogs weighing down the RPI numbers. that said, we have a very big stretch starting with the G-W series. UNC and Clemson followed by UNCA then I believe UVa before finals then the nemesis Chants come to town graduation weekend
