What a job by Fulghum! Knocked around for 5 runs on 10 hits in the first 4 innings........ then shuts them out on 1 hit the rest of the way for a complete game win.

Pretty good pitchers duel going today, unlike the rest of this slugfest of a series.

Bean with a complete game 5 hitter. We need to make sure and win at least one of these next two games It's nice to win these conference match ups, but the BS conference is not as strong this year as most. None the less, we are winning the games we should win. Keep that Flame train rolling.

Thats just not true. Coastal is down and that whole division is bad. Flames campbell and high point are having great seasons. Vmi and radford are having solid seasons. All in all the conference is right about where it always is. Huge series for the flames here because that is a pesky team that really could have stolen one. Only used 4 pitchers this weekend i believe so we did about as well as we can. Time to beat the hokies now.

7 of 12 teams under .500. Whatever you say my friend. Regardless, the Flametrain is rolling and I am enjoying the ride. Coaches are doing an excellent job as well as the players. Gotta love it.

Agreed i just dont want to take away from what the guys are doing. The teams that are bad are always bad. The top is really good and the bottom is really bad. Thats always been the case just switch hpu and coastal. Thing is weve played the best in the conference this year in acheiving this record. We have mostly dogs left though you know ccu will get up for us.

You guys made me curious. Here are the conference RPIs from the past few years:
2014 - .4881 - 18th
2013 - .5025 - 13th
2012 - .499 - 17th
2011 - .498 - 16th
The numbers say the conference is ever so slightly down but not much. Also interesting that we went up one to 17 over the weekend. Our won/loss record is 7th but our strength of schedule dropped from around 70 to 92. Great pickup of Clemson as Asheville, Coastal, and Gardner Webb are all 200+ with Radford being at 148.
Roll on FlameTrain. We have alot of guys playing at a high level and it seems like they are all very understanding of and appreciating their roles - so fun to watch right now. Hope we have a great atmosphere tomorrow night.

Longwood is causing it to be slightly worse. I believe last year was their first in the league. The killer is coastal. If they were as good as usual the conference could be significantly higher.

Coastal has a lot of freshmen in the lineup and their best pitcher, Ben Smith, the best starting southpaw in BSC, has been out with an injury for some time.

Despite a rough outing this weekend I think we have a pretty good lefty of our own. would be quite a matchup between the two if they met in the series in May
