Looks like we are on the outside for another week, getting the 6th most of unranked teams in the coaches poll.

A little surprised, but no big deal as long as we keep doing what we're doing and winning games.

Boyd's world has a great RPI needs report - predicts RPI for each team based on multiple scenarios. Note, it does not appear to factor the conference tournaments, just the remaining regular season games. I believe the actual final RPI would be influenced by the tournament results as well.

For Liberty to finish in the RPI Top X:

Top 45:

0 home wins, 4 road wins
1 home wins, 3 road wins
2 home wins, 2 road wins
3 home wins, 1 road wins
4 home wins, 0 road wins

Top 32:

3 home wins, 4 road wins
4 home wins, 2 road wins
5 home wins, 1 road wins
6 home wins, 0 road wins

Top 16:

7 home wins, 4 road wins

Top 8:

No way to reach the threshold.

So I was just looking at our opponents records. With the exception of UNF(17-23) Ohio(6-30yuck) and VaTech(18-22) We have not lost to a team with a record under .500. Uncw (20-20) is right at it. so 6 of the ten losses have been against teams more than 4 games above .500. Thats pretty freakin good.

Of our 32 wins, only 13 of them have been against teams under .500. Someone who is better at math than me can do the avg. winning percentage against teams over and under .500 if they want. I just thought it was cool.

Oh and we are tied with my employer for 5th most wins in the country.

We are a solid 2 seed and could probably stay there with a slip up or 2. In my opinion we have 2 scenarios to host. If we lose to uva i think we have to win the tourney sweep ccu and unca take 2 of 3 from raddy and beat elon. If we beat uva i think that gives us a shot without winning the tourney. Ohio is the only terrible loss we have. Tech and unf were def the next 2 in line.

Here is probably what will happen if we host. We will host as a 2 seed. Happens almost every year. There will be a couple of options to send a 1 seed to us. 1 - Houston and rice are top 16 rpi teams and they probably wnt give the city of Houston 2 hosts. Also, 6 SEC teams are in top 16 and they won't give the SEC all 6 host sites. The region is also missing the usual hosts, Clemson and UNC. So this is probably our scenario if it happens. I commend Barber and Guridy for giving us the facility that attracts the national scene and also commend Toman and the staff for putting us in this potential situation!!! This facility will make the committee look long and hard at us as a host site. According to Aaron Fitt - he thinks we just need to win the next 2 series to be a host site.

Coastal was sent to Arizona State I believe as the 1 seed, but their facilities weren't ready to host.

Coaches don't have time to watch games for their votes to make sense.
