After losing a midweek game due to the weather, the Flames are right back on it as they welcome the team that they beat to win the Big South Championship on the very same field. Liberty comes in winners of 6 in a row, while the Camels come to town after losing 2 of 3 to William and Mary and after a pair of games with common opponent Ball State (who Liberty split with in the Liberty Invitational last weekend)
My Projected Matchups:
Friday: Heath Bowers (4-0 0.62 ERA) vs. Trey Lambert (3-1, 2.77 ERA)
Saturday: Hector Cedano (2-0 0.54 ERA vs. Parker Bean (3-1, 3.09 ERA)
Sunday: Andrew Witczak (1-1, 6.86 ERA) vs. Carson Herndon (2-1, 5.09 ERA) or Blake Fulghum (1-2 3.32 ERA)
Campbell comes in with an impressive record, but their opponents in their weekend series/tournaments have been, on the whole, questionable at best (LaSalle, Manhattan, Delaware, Albany, Army and Towson) with only Army and Towson making it to the postseason last year. With the kind of momentum that Liberty has after a difficult start to the season, I expect a series win this weekend.
