Wow, a strikeout and wild pitch and the runner is out at home so we win.

Perritt strikes out the side and a heads up defensive play at home ends the game...Flames win 4-2.

Sweep a traditional solid team in Kent state, then head to Elon and beat them at their place. We maybe on to something here!!

Liberty has not allowed more than 2 runs since the second Ball State matchup last weekend, and before that was against UNC Wilmington. The "Shove It car" on the Flame Train is quickly gaining riders

It can't be understated how important having a midweek pitcher like Jared Lyons is! A kid who would be in the weekend rotation for a ton of schools!! Not to mention being able to probably run out another quality arm tomorrow and still being ready for the weekend. Team is coming together nicely to win a majority of the weekends and still compete with anyone in the country on midweek.

He may start Sunday as well against Campbell.

They use a LOT of righties in their lineup (and a couple switch hitters). I think the fastball from Lyons would break in on the hands of a right handed hitter and away from a lefty. that sound about right?

Also, I don't see Herndon leaving the Sunday spot. Kid started out Friday nights for us early in the year last year, pro potential, runs it up to 94 and is starting to hit his stride as well. I'll take that from any Sunday starter in the country. No need to take Lyons off where he is now. A fantastic weekend starter. We have some very important weekday games coming up.

Lyons sounds like he would be a good occasional weekend starter if the lineup lends itself to it. Our regular rotation in Lambert, Bean and Herndon is all right handers and with Herndon entrenched in the Sunday spot, Lyons probably would be a Friday or Saturday spot. I like him as a midweek starter with some weekend innings in relief.

Leave the pitching right where it is for the time being. These midweek wins may very well be key for us in a race for a regional and seeding. We still need to tighten up our defense a bit though. Is the move to dylan allen due to injury to keranen or just toman shaking things up? I think we get atleast 2 this weekend maybe a sweep if can play d.
