Good first inning for Lambert. He was a little too pumped up, leading to the balk, but did a good job of getting a couple of pop-ups to end the inning.

Their defense is taking bases away, ours is giving them away (until Aanderud).

Great job getting out of that inning with only 1 run allowed.

1-0 Clemson, bottom of the 4th.

As per the unwritten rules of baseball, if you make a great defensive play, you come up in a big offensive situation. Aanderud with two line drive catches with the infield in in the top of the 4th followed by a bases loaded single to score 2 in the bottom of the 4th. 2-1 LU lead and it would be 3-1 if Grauer hadn't run into the first out at 3B.

2-1 LU at the end of the 4th. Double play with the bases loaded on a shallow fly ball and throw out at home. Not sure why you send the runner on a ball that looked to be no more than 225-250 feet from home.

Lambert doing a good job working around the leadoff guy getting on every inning. Wimmer with a great pickoff at 1B to start the 5th after the leadoff walk.

Situationally, I agree with being aggressive on the fly to left with bases loaded in bottom of 4th. But the ball simply wasn't deep enough. The whole way in the air, I was saying aloud, "Well, that's not deep enough." Surprised they sent him anyway. I know it's not an easy play for LFer, but the throw beat him by three steps!

Britt foul ball would have cleared the bases in the 4th. Wimmer just misses a 3 run homer in the 5th foul. So close to a 5-1 lead both times.

Lambert did it again. He has been a great bounce back guy for us all year. Ashton didn't have his best stuff but he got the job done. Great job from the guys again. Now all we have to do is double dip USC haha.

Nice win. The guys have to be exhausted playing so late last night and playing in the heat of the day today. Now they come back in a couple hours. Cold showers and stay off your feet after a meal. Blake Fulgum is my guess for the option to start the next game. We really don't have a lot of options - Lyons and Roy should be available with Perrit to close. Perrit lacking speed on his fastball. My guess his legs are pretty much gone on him and had a hard time driving of the rubber.

A little bit true, got some guys who just showed up at a camp: Perritt, Cordell, Sizemore, Britt. Not a bad few players who just showed up bc they had interest in us.

If you think we played great last night and don't need to change a thing then rock on Capt Underpants. Beating Clemson today was huge. I think we have a decent chance tonite if we actually focus more then we did last night or this afternoon. Then tomorrow all bets are off

A few thoughts about Perritt:

1) Is it possible Perritt didn't have his best stuff because he only got the eight warm-up pitches to which the TV announcers alluded?
2) If Perritt was being considered as a starter option for tonight, and his legs really are gone so as to cause him to not get his usual push off of the rubber, wasn't it nice to learn that with a two-run lead and only needing four more outs?
