Upcoming season

This is from
http://www.perfectgame.org ............
"Liberty assistant coach Garrett Quinn is excited about the upcoming season for several reasons. In addition to the Flames fielding yet another solid club, they're also ushering in a newly-renovated ballpark that will be playable by the time the season begins. With that said, the Flames have some legitimate talent to work with this season, especially right-handed pitchers Kyle McKelvey and Josh Richardson. McKelvey, a freshman, is coming off an injury, but was well into the 90s during fall workouts. Richardson, who only pitched 1 1/13 innings last season because of an injury, also was well into the 90s."
Looking forward to the season. I know there is a lot of excitement about the stadium but we should have a solid team.

Itll be interesting to see who fills the weekend slots with all three of our pitchers from last year graduated. Herndon maybe could be moved to a weekend role, McKelvey if he is as good as the article says could as well. FlamesNation is probably working on something previewing the season and the team so we can get some further insight into how things will shake down

Couldn't find the article since it is clearly a premium article. But going to the site, it mentions a Liberty OF transferring to Cali as a premium article. Who is that referencing?

I saw a tweet yesterday regarding Tony McClendon going to a smaller school in California so that is probably what that was. Tony had not been in school this year so it is not a surprise.
There is also an article on a site I have never heard of called College Sports Madness that gives an initial preview of the season.

This will be the toughest non conference schedule ever. Maybe it will prepare us for CCU. Beat Coastal.

We have a lot of new pitchers this year (both freshmen and JUCOs) so itll be interesting to see how they adapt here in these non-conference series early in the season

Nick Pierce with a new interview of Toman and 2nd baseman Bryan Aanderud
sounds like pitching will be much improved.

on a side note- can we PLEASE not use these caps, that is the most UN-scalable (?) version of the logo I've ever seen. gak.

We need the yearly Nick Pierce interview to see who the starting rotation and new spots in the field are.
I must say i was shocked to read that Lambert was the probable opening day starter. Def. expected him to have a bigger role this year but not quite ace.

well I hate that hat...
In other news Nick is really good and his love for baseball is really clear. I am not sure if the FSN folks appreciate the talent he brings them. I may be biased though.

Nick is amazing. I think he has the talent to be a Major League broadcaster if somebody hears him (course Im sure he will hold out for a chance to call his hometown Braves if he does go that route).

I'm with you on this one. I think they should go with a more legible design.

I think we have the potential to have a great team this year but it is going to depend on some of the new pitchers coming in.

The word I am hearing is that our offense should be (is) better than last year, and we have more depth. Pitching wise we have 20 pitchers on the roster and all are capable of pitching at this level, but roles of the different pitchers are yet to be determined. Expect to see the early games look like staff days till the roles get sorted out.

I see you guys just like CCU was 5-10 year ago. Knocking on the door to get into the Tourney, giving good teams a run for their money. There is a segment on the local sports radio down here where Coach Gilmore says something to the effect of 'in the beginning we played teams with high rpi to help us out, but now we play those teams and we're helping eachother out" I think you guys are on the precipice of turning the corner - hopefully not beating CCU for Conference Titles, but making the dance as an at-large
